I think Eric is on the right track here. I'm not particularly concerned about the baby diaries as such; I've never read them. I am pretty worried that a staff member decided to use root priveleges to delete entire items with responses from many people for personal reasons. No matter how compelling the reasons, that is censorship and I don't think it has any place on Grex. As far as I'm concerned, this is pretty much a resignation from staff. If there's a staff member who is no longer willing to stay within the consensus bounds of acceptable behavior, it's time to change the root password. :-(
