Back in 1996 the board decided to create the position of Membership Chair. The idea was to get someone who would be the point person for recruiting new members. Such a person would hopefully be energetic about talking to people, have ideas about how to encourage people to become members, and have time to do those things. A good working knowledge of Grex would help too. So would a genuine fondness for Grex. I think what we need here is a good salesperson, with some marketing ideas to boot. What exactly s/he should do, I'm not sure - part of the job is deciding what to do. So we need someone with initiative. Jim Reuter (omni) has been the Membership Chair for the past 2 years, and has decided to step down. This item is for people to volunteer to replace him. The Grex population has always been heavy on technical knowledge and light on salesmanship, so if you have any interest in this area, please speak up and don't assume that someone else must be better qualified than you are.
