We'll be missing this one, unfortunately. Sun and warmth calls. I'll give
the manager a call tomorrow and give them a heads-up for 6-8 people.

Thanks, Mary!

I'd suggest reports come before business, as business might depend upon
reports.

#4 of 23 by kentn on Wed Jan 26 13:19:16 2011:

Reports? If we do reports before business, the entire meeting is
about reports and no business gets done. Is that what you want?

#5 of 23 by rcurl on Wed Jan 26 21:43:33 2011:

Is doing reports after business shorter? The business will certainly be less
informed, which might shorten it.

Set a time limit on reports.

#6 of 23 by kentn on Wed Jan 26 23:10:55 2011:

Yes the reports after business are shorter. I like to allow them about 10
minutes. They are status reports, after all, not staff meetings.

Kent does a fine job at keeping the meetings on track and moving along.
The best I've seen, actually.

That is a good talent to have in someone running a meeting. I certainly
don't have it. In fact, I am the opposite and tend to take meetings off
track completely.

#9 of 23 by kentn on Thu Jan 27 01:46:51 2011:

Note that if staff want the Board to address any issues, they can let me
know directly or enter them in this item. I'll try to add them to the
agenda (at the very least I'll bring them along as walk-in items). It's
the deviations from the agenda at the very beginning of the meeting that
usually derail everything. So that's why we've been moving the status
reports to the end. It has actually worked pretty well that way and
we've been getting through most of the agenda.

This meeting is canceled for Sunday night. Please suggest alternate
meeting dates that will work better for you.

#11 of 23 by mary on Sun Jan 30 05:34:35 2011:

Would someone please call Big Boy and let them know? Thanks.

#12 of 23 by denise on Sun Jan 30 14:26:01 2011:

Big Boy has been notified.

#13 of 23 by jgelinas on Sun Jan 30 22:03:06 2011:

Any Sunday will work for me. With advance notice, most other nights
will work, as well: I pretty much set my own schedule.

#14 of 23 by denise on Mon Jan 31 01:35:50 2011:

Some weeknights would work, some wouldn't. Sunday evenings are usually
fine.

#15 of 23 by kentn on Wed Feb 2 05:39:39 2011:

Well, how about we push it out two weeks from last Sunday? Would that
work for everyone?

#16 of 23 by denise on Wed Feb 2 16:13:34 2011:

It should be fine for me. Same time/same place, I assume.

#17 of 23 by kentn on Wed Feb 2 16:19:43 2011:

Yes, same time/place. I'm hoping we can give people a chance to dig
out from whatever they are doing right now (like shoveling).

#18 of 23 by denise on Thu Feb 3 13:18:37 2011:

resp:15 We should probably send out an email, too, about this proposed
date--in case some of the board members don't check in here right away.
I will send something out in a little bit...

#19 of 23 by kentn on Thu Feb 3 13:55:45 2011:

Some people don't read this conference, some people don't read their
e-mail. We should try smoke signals next time.

#20 of 23 by jgelinas on Thu Feb 3 23:21:20 2011:

It's not that I (at least) don't read e-mail, or this conference; I just
don't do so as often as I would like. :(

I'll put the meeting for the 13th inst. on my calendar. Unless I say
otherwise, expect me to be there. :)

#21 of 23 by kentn on Thu Feb 3 23:52:28 2011:

Okay, Joe, I'll count that as an "attending" response.

#22 of 23 by denise on Fri Feb 11 01:42:48 2011:

Just a reminder: the rescheduled board meeting is this Sunday, 2/13.
Still at 6:30 at Big Boy's on Plymouth Rd and US23.
