Entered by ramass on Wed Dec 24 17:32:55 1997:

I'm an amateur musician very interested in classical (of the BeethovenMozart
gnere) . I play a fair bit of piano... for the next two months though there
is no way io can get access to a teacher... what is the best way to practise
ear training... i think that's my prime area of weakness... Conmsider me an
absolute novice so far as ear is concerned!!

you might be able to find shareware or freeware for your computer that will
test your ability to recognize intervals and chords.

I have a computer program with drills on a number of music reading skills
including notes (in three clefs), key signatures, major and minor scales,
the circle of fifths, and intervals. It's called MiBac Music Lessons,
it's available at Border's (or at least it was three years ago), and runs
about $70.00.
