Donated by Steve Sarrica via Rob Argy (ajax): Apple CD SC, external, no docs, no cable, no disk caddy. This seems to be a single-speed CD-ROM drive. I tried it out, and got it to work only once in a while. While it worked, it could play audio CD's (it has a volume knob and headphone jack) and mount data CDs, just using the Apple's standard "Apple CD-ROM" driver (it comes with System 7.5, and probably earlier versions) and Apple's "Audio CD" application. Maybe I was doing something wrong, or maybe it only works intermittantly. I tried it with and without an external terminator, and with different SCSI IDs. Disk caddies are the little container used in older drives; you put a CD in that, then put it in the drive. You can pick them up for just a few bucks from a number of places. Takes a standard Apple 25pin-to-50pin SCSI cable.12 responses total.
