I can personally attest to freida's skill as an artist. All I can say is,
get one before she croaks. ;)

croaking approaching...bid now!

Another cool item... Hmm, how about starting this at say, $25?
I'm sure it'll go for more, though--so I'll have to keep checking
back!

Frieda, I may just do that, hire you to paint me something if I don't get
this one!! Photography is one of my hobbies; I'd love to have a painting
of one of my photos!!

#13 of 25 by freida on Sun May 19 03:01:13 1996:

I hope you all realize that the painting is not yet painted and that you will
pay shipping charges. Once the winner is selected, they will need to decide
what kind of painting they would like. Then I will paint it and it will need
time to surface dry...an oil painting actually changes its chemical
composition as it dries and takes a full 3 to 6 months to completely dry.
However, it can be surface dry for shipping in about 3 to 6 weeks. I will
corresponde more closely with the winner on subject and so forth when the time
comes.

Denise...I would love to see some of your photography...try to come to
grexstock so we can share!

Freida -- how much is shipping likely to cost?

#15 of 25 by robh on Mon May 20 16:23:55 1996:

The current bid is $80, from my beloved sister natbaird,
made on 5-17.

I really have no idea since I haven't shipped a painting anywhere. I do know
that the pricefor UPS goes by weight and size (the painting is under the size
requirements and really doesn't weigh very much) but is affected by insurance
. The buyer would have to decide how much insurance to put on the painting.
UPS charges range from around $5. to about $10. and up depending on the
insurance which can increase it. I have a couple of finished paintings so
if someone was coming to grexstock, they could possibly find one they like
and take it with them.

UPS has a hompeage on the web through which you can calculate the exact
charges, provided you know the weight of the package, and the zip code of the
destination, and how you want it shipped. Address is http://www.ups.com

or you could just call them....:) actually, i think about 20 to 30 dollars
should cover shipping....that was one of the things that i got to do over
x-mas..:)

#19 of 25 by ajax on Wed May 22 17:33:43 1996:

Call? Does that have something to do with that funny-looking
push-button device that sometimes rings?

#20 of 25 by omni on Wed May 22 19:57:28 1996:

I think it is, Rob, but I cannot be sure.
;)
