I can personally attest to freida's skill as an artist. All I can say is, get one before she croaks. ;)
croaking approaching...bid now!
Another cool item... Hmm, how about starting this at say, $25? I'm sure it'll go for more, though--so I'll have to keep checking back!
I love oil paintings! I bid $50.00.

Stop that, Natalie, I want this painting!! :-) $75
Please realize that the painting has not yet been painted...I can also paint scenery from your photo, if necessary.
$80
Frieda, I may just do that, hire you to paint me something if I don't get this one!! Photography is one of my hobbies; I'd love to have a painting of one of my photos!!
I hope you all realize that the painting is not yet painted and that you will pay shipping charges. Once the winner is selected, they will need to decide what kind of painting they would like. Then I will paint it and it will need time to surface dry...an oil painting actually changes its chemical composition as it dries and takes a full 3 to 6 months to completely dry. However, it can be surface dry for shipping in about 3 to 6 weeks. I will corresponde more closely with the winner on subject and so forth when the time comes. Denise...I would love to see some of your photography...try to come to grexstock so we can share!
Freida -- how much is shipping likely to cost?
The current bid is $80, from my beloved sister natbaird, made on 5-17.
I really have no idea since I haven't shipped a painting anywhere. I do know that the pricefor UPS goes by weight and size (the painting is under the size requirements and really doesn't weigh very much) but is affected by insurance . The buyer would have to decide how much insurance to put on the painting. UPS charges range from around $5. to about $10. and up depending on the insurance which can increase it. I have a couple of finished paintings so if someone was coming to grexstock, they could possibly find one they like and take it with them.
UPS has a hompeage on the web through which you can calculate the exact charges, provided you know the weight of the package, and the zip code of the destination, and how you want it shipped. Address is http://www.ups.com
or you could just call them....:) actually, i think about 20 to 30 dollars should cover shipping....that was one of the things that i got to do over x-mas..:)
Call? Does that have something to do with that funny-looking push-button device that sometimes rings?
I think it is, Rob, but I cannot be sure. ;)
The current bid is still $80 from natbaird, which will become official in about eleven hours. Going, going...
[I'm only letting this slide right now is so that I can get the other item... [the week in WVa that I'm really looking forward too... So down the road, I do do hope that Frieda will let me commision her to do a painting for me!!??]
denise, when you decide to take your week's stay, be sure to bring lots of your photos and we'll see what can be worked out! Also, let me know when you might want to visit!
The bidding is closed, and the item is SOLD to natbaird for $80. Congratulations!
