Item 77: Not the Mysterious Quote Item

Entered by md on Sat Oct 11 14:17:47 2003:

This is not the mysterious quote item. In this item you may enter cool
quotes from books you're reading that you don't actually expect anyone
to guess the author of. Maybe you think the book is exceptionally
important or entertaining and you want to turn others on to it. Maybe
you want people to think you're clever or deep for reading such clever
or deep stuff. Maybe you're bored. Whatever.

Woman mattered as long as she simulated shame, reserve. What
inadequacy she reveals by no longer playing the game! Already she is
worth nothing, now that she resembles us. Thus vanishes one of the
last lies that made existence tolerable.

PS: Could I ask the kind person who converts my column into braille for
the blind to omit this particuar article. I have no desire to offend
eyes which cannot see.

Many years ago I decided the Jesus part wasn't for me. But Jello
remains a friend.
