Hello, hello. I recently entered a item about public art. I'm sorry I didnt follow through with it- I was busy with school and all. But! I would like to inform everyone that one of my art classes, Art Inside and Out, is repainting the mural on the train on Miller, next to Big City Small World Cafe. We're repainting over the old tree- someone mentioned it in the previous item. We;ll be painting on Monday's and Wednesday from 12ish - to 1:30is, and on Fridays from about 12:30 to 1ish. I encourage everyone to come down and see what we're doing. If you show up when we're working, feel free to take pictures or ask questions. Above it says we're repainting the train. No, we're repainting the train bridge. I'm to lazy to fix it- heh. Me tired. Anyway, I hope you all come and see what we're doing, and I hope you enjoy our mural. Cheers.9 responses total.
I won't be there.
Staci, how do you do a group art project? Did you get together and agree on what different people are going to do, and how they're going to do it, to make it all fit together, or do you just have everyone do their own thing? Do the artists have to qualify to show they're good enough to fit in with the rest?
Staci didn't mention that this is one of the projects for an art class she is taking at Community High. All students in the class participate. The concept is the instructor's. She painted the original picture, which they are painting over.
Mother is right. We came up with our image through alot of discussion. In the end we all took and idea/image and merged it with the other idea's/images. We're still playing with it- everyday we decide to add something new, change something, leave something out. Colours change all the time- and there's still a spot we dont have anything for. We're playing around alot- but we have a basic idea. The concept is our own, mother was wrong about that. Our instructor didpaint the image we're painting over- but has had no say in what we're painting. She merely provided the means to do so. Anyway, its comeing along great. Come stop by!
Ah. I thought she said _you_ painted the tree that used to be there. I've not driven Miller since your first comment, so I haven't noticed what is going on there.
I was walking downtown this afternoon at about 3:30 and i saw the area where staci's class is painting, and it looks great so far. Congratulations staci on having such a great talent.
Thank you, Mary ^-^
