Ok it is almost 3am here.. i just finished adding a bunch of pictures and I changed the front page a little. I think Mike will like it. becka - Grexer john87 - Family scott - Artwork/Hobbies other - Grexer cplus - Grexer carnaily - Grexer killboy & becka - Grexers Unite (look towards the end of the list cus the program made a duplicate link of 'killboy & becka' killboy - Grexer I would also like to point out that we are 31 unique pictures of grexers short of 200! So encourage those shy grexers to send their pictures! Hmm although, I have to sort through the list and get rid of pictures of deleted accounts.
I don't think you should delete old pictures. Monkeyhost has lots of space, and, you know, archives are neat.
I like other's pictures. Now those are hot. I hope scott's shoulder is better. That looked nasty. I agree with David. Once a grexer, always a grexer. Maybe you cld have a footnote noting that certain grexer's accounts have been deleted. If a grexer has pictures under two different accounts, then maybe one of them can be dropped from the unique grexer list..
And what happens if someone new gets the loginid? Do they get the old picture, along with it?
Hmmm, hadn't thought of that. I guess you can have a pool of grexers who's accounts have been deleted. Without the login id. But that doesn't make sense, except to have us see what kind of people get on grex
Yeah, I have gotten a similar request before, to keep non-existing grexers, on the list. I will try to keep them on. I could probably make a seperate database on morenatimm.com in case I run out of space. Well see. Oh also I have gotten several complaints about not being able to find a user quickly enough because some of them may not be found under Grexers but under other categories. They mentioned creating a master list where you could see all 169 grexers (or whatever the number may be) who currently have any picture on the site. Mike says he can easily do that, it's just a matter of finding the time to do it. I also thought about adding links on the front page of pictures I have recently added.
Heck, I could do that too, if all you're looking at is displaying the list of the users. Again, time is an issue. But that is a good idea. Like the idea of the links on teh front page

I know Sarah (michaela) had that really keen goth photo of her dropped from the site, but I kinda wish she'd bring it back, say for the artwork section. (I hope she agrees...)

I think I forgot to notify everyone that Mike updated the site by adding a Master list. So on the index page, you will find the entire list of grexers who have submitted a picture, regardless is they don't have a Grexer picture. This should help in finding a grexer right away. We are also talking about a search engine. That's it for now.
AGh! I can't cut and paste! I was gonna paste Mike's post about the new features he's working on for the site. He posted it under Technical Updates Underway today. Hey we are 25 pictures away from the 200 mark!!

Yes, Chris sent in a picture of rcurl and then rcurl sent in another picture. I posted the one rcurl sent me. Get with it people! Mike M. : I'm not sure why your name doesn't appear on the "master list". Your picture is under Hobbies.. you could do a search for your username and it will show you one result. There are always bugs to fix I guess. We will check it out and see what's going on. Mark: I see what you mean about the title. But the our little program we run is stubborn and alphabetizes the users' names. The caption does say the order of the names though.
Re: 41 - We didn't drop your picture. I had updated the code to print out all the grexers but forgot to tell other parts of the site to call the new code. It's fixed now. All 183 grexers show up on the master list.

Oh, that's weird. Damn that sucks. I guess that is one bad thing about being able to upload a file to the server. I guess we have to work on some authentication process. Take it away Mike! ;) hehehe
Yeah, I was having a hard time reconciling the picture with what I know rcurl looks like nowadays. One way to authenticate would be to send email to the cyberspace.org address of the person who claims to have uploaded the picture, and require confirmation before posting it.
Yeah, we were discussing that too. That might slow down the process of putting up pictures. Time that I really don't have unfortunately. It would be easier if people would just tell me "hey, i didn't send that picture, will you please take it down?' or something like that, by word of mouth too. I dunno. Any more suggestions?

The "hey, I didn't send that picture" solution won't work for people who don't look at the grexer gallery. #52 is overkill. But you knew that. The email confirmation process can be entirely automated. Lots of sites use something like it.

Hey Momo, regarding the issue of those that no longer have accounts, you could have them under "Grexers: MIA". Seriously.
Re #54: that can be missed - I fixseen whole slews of responses if I've been away for a while and the accumulation is enormous. Since the photos come by e-mail, it seems simple enough to respond on the spot with 'thanks'. You'll hear if the message with the pic was spoofed.
Yeah, I think we may be able to do some automated response. But if that user doesn't respond quickly enough then I can't post the picture quickly enough and then I will lose track of who is ok to go and who is not. AGh! I haven't seen any major issues yet. The rcurl picture is a first. I think automated email is the next step too. Thanks for your input.
Sylvia: MIA would be nice to have around but I don't have the diskspace for that. Just today I received 10 pics from one user! I think it's time to resize some of these pictures ;)

10 pics!?! Perhaps you should limit the number of pics per user? The MIA photos: I wouldn't say collect them, just migrate current pictures of users when they leave the system.
