#1 of 45 by mynxcat on Mon Nov 24 20:30:52 2003:

This year, I'm thankful that both the fiance's and my immigration visa
to Canada came through.

That the last couple of conversations with my mother have been decent,
without her freaking out.

That for the first time in years, I seem to have a plan for what I'll
be doing next year.

That the world has a rich variety of food

#2 of 45 by keesan on Mon Nov 24 20:37:57 2003:

I am thankful that I am going to be around next year, and that I have so many
supportive friends, neighbors, and relatives. And that I can eat anything
I want and have someone to cook it for me (and wash the dishes).

Are you planning to move to Canada?

#3 of 45 by aruba on Mon Nov 24 20:38:26 2003:

I'm thankful for my health, and the health of my parents. I'm thankful I
have someone to go home to every night.

#4 of 45 by mynxcat on Mon Nov 24 20:54:30 2003:

Re 2> Yes, that's the plan :) And I'm looking forward to going back to
school. Again ;) (This fall didn't pan out because of finances. Things
are looking better for next year)

#5 of 45 by slynne on Mon Nov 24 21:20:41 2003:

I am thankful that I have a roof over my head and a warm place to sleep
every night. I am thankful that I have a job that isnt too bad. I am
thankful that I have good friends who love me. I am thankful for my
family. I am thankful that I can do things I enjoy like going to movies
or eating in restaurants. There was a time, albeit long ago, when I
couldnt afford to do those things.

#6 of 45 by mynxcat on Mon Nov 24 21:24:19 2003:

I am thankful that I have GTA Vice City to vent off my not-so-nice
side. Now I don't have toburn any more Sims, I'll just mug tourists.

#7 of 45 by scott on Mon Nov 24 21:42:11 2003:

I'm thankful that when I figured out my career change, all the work I'd done
on the old career paid off many times more than I'd expected.

#8 of 45 by vidar on Mon Nov 24 22:53:28 2003:

I'm thankful that I only have to work 3 days this week, and one of
those workdays is already over.

#9 of 45 by beeswing on Tue Nov 25 00:17:17 2003:

Thankful for the basics:

job
food
home
cat
family
friends

#10 of 45 by jep on Tue Nov 25 04:48:54 2003:

I'm thankful for my son. If he knew how much he's done for me,
especially over the last two years, I am sure he'd be terrified. Some
day, he will know.

I'm thankful for my parents. My dad is into the dementia of old age,
but he's not completely out of it yet. My mother, who will be 76 in
January, is in good health. They're both there for me.

I'm thankful for my job. Too many people are unemployed. It could be
me, and I don't know what I'd do if it was.

I'm thankful I have learned to live with my anger. It's still there,
but it's not controlling me to the extent it once did.

I'm thankful that, for all of the bad decisions I've made in my life,
I'm really doing pretty well.

I'm thankful to be free, in good health, and with the ability to
provide for all of my needs.

#11 of 45 by ea on Tue Nov 25 05:08:50 2003:

I'm thankful for good health, good family, and good friends.

I'm thankful that I'm largely debt free.

I'm thankful that I have food, and a good place to sleep.

#12 of 45 by happyboy on Tue Nov 25 05:46:24 2003:

i am thankful for this pair of nail clippers.

#13 of 45 by edina on Tue Nov 25 15:44:16 2003:

I am thankful for nail clippers too.

I am thankful that I am surrounded by love, both new and old. That I have
a circle of friends that love me and support me. That Dave is an amazing
treasure that I could not hold closer in my heart.

I am thankful I am healthy. I made a decision this year that is paying off
in spades and I feel wonderful.

I have a great job! It wears on me from time to time, but for hte most part,
it's grand.

#14 of 45 by keesan on Tue Nov 25 15:44:41 2003:

I am thankful to have a warm down quilt, a space heater, and three panes of
glass between me and the tree that was bending in the wind yesterday.

IT 4 grex! :-)

#17 of 45 by jaklumen on Tue Nov 25 23:04:21 2003:

I'm thankful for a wonderful wife, a beautiful daughter who is smart
and is doing very well, and freedom from basic wants. Although I am
not working right at the moment, if things come together, I should
return to the job I got for the holidays very soon.

#18 of 45 by happyboy on Wed Nov 26 02:45:33 2003:

i'm thankfull for the cheese and sausage hostess at the shoppin
mall!

#19 of 45 by jaklumen on Thu Nov 27 02:32:18 2003:

What is your problem, man?

#20 of 45 by willcome on Thu Nov 27 09:41:23 2003:

whore.

#21 of 45 by happyboy on Thu Nov 27 10:31:24 2003:

re19: no problem, i just like free samples!

#22 of 45 by md on Thu Nov 27 13:08:23 2003:

Happyboy believes that deflating "serious" discussions by entering
trivial responses is a funny thing to do, and will always be a funny
thing to do. That is why I am thankful for happyboy.

For a truly fun time, try doing it to him when you catch him being
serious about something. That is also why I am thankful for happyboy.

#23 of 45 by happyboy on Thu Nov 27 18:30:04 2003:

i'm down with that! i'm thankful for pompous
balding middle-aged suburbanites!

[points at happyboy]

See?

#25 of 45 by happyboy on Thu Nov 27 22:25:45 2003:

i think you're neat!

#26 of 45 by keesan on Thu Nov 27 23:12:17 2003:

I don't see, I am using a twit filter. By the way, which twit entered 131
new responses and can that user be blocked from grex? I am about to do a
fixseen so as not to waste any more time on this.

#27 of 45 by rcurl on Thu Nov 27 23:59:48 2003:

I did a fixseen after expression my opinion on a couple of the jerk's
responses. Such grossly stupid actions harm many users by wasting their
time in dealing with them.

#28 of 45 by keesan on Fri Nov 28 00:13:04 2003:

Which jerk was this? This has happened before.

#29 of 45 by gelinas on Fri Nov 28 00:54:42 2003:

No, he can't be blocked. At least, the last attempt was unsuccessful.

If you want to know who is entering responses, stop using a twit filter.

#30 of 45 by willcome on Fri Nov 28 03:33:25 2003:

I think many of my 131 responses were of more intellectual value than most
of the posts on here.

#31 of 45 by twenex on Fri Nov 28 03:56:17 2003:

Bzzt! Wrong, but htankyou for playing.

#32 of 45 by oval on Fri Nov 28 11:20:21 2003:

i am thankful for happyboy too and i'm also thankful for the meat and potatoes
i ate and the american tourist i pissed off.

#33 of 45 by remmers on Fri Nov 28 12:16:44 2003:

I'm thankful for the nice dinner out with family yesterday.
I'm thankful for tcp/ip and the layers above it and what is in those layers.
I'm thankful that oval is back.

#34 of 45 by gull on Fri Nov 28 15:44:14 2003:

I usually find happyboy's responses amusing and witty. I can't say the
same about willcome's.

Incidentally, if people are going to use twit filters that's fine, but I
don't think they should then expect the rest of us to fill them in on
what's going on.

#35 of 45 by twenex on Fri Nov 28 16:09:28 2003:

I agree.
Personally, I find being my own twit filter is best.

#36 of 45 by keesan on Fri Nov 28 16:55:36 2003:

I don't expect to be filled in. I asked politely. This seemed to be a worse
twit than the average and I was curious if twinkie was back.

It would be nice if the twit filter could work so as not to show you every
item where a twit entered a response as a blank, but rather it would simply
not display those items (unless someone entered a response afterwards).

I don't find happyboy's responses amusing but I don't object to him posting
them since other people do. However I don't feel like paging down past his
blank screens so when the signal to noise ratio dropped that low I added him
to my filter. Unlike most of the other grexers on there, I don't think he
is trying to annoy people.

I am thankful there is a twit filter even if it does not work perfectly.

#37 of 45 by remmers on Fri Nov 28 21:30:30 2003:

Not sure what twit filter Sindi is using, but mine can easily be
turned on and off via a couple of Picospan aliases that I defined:
"twit" turns it on, "notwit" turns it off.

#38 of 45 by remmers on Fri Nov 28 21:32:13 2003:

Hm, this seems to be the "giving thanks" item. So, to get it back on-topic:

I'm thankful that my twit filter it easy to turn on and off.

#39 of 45 by edina on Tue Dec 2 15:56:59 2003:

I'm thankful for having spent a great weekend and having friends who are
gently and kindly telling me to do what I need to do for myself.
