On a new red Corvette, blue Michigan plate: ENGINER
Ha ha! Very amusing indeed.
This doesn't exactly fit into either category, but it is now possible to get number plates within the EU which have a section at the left with the EU flag, and in the circle formed by the stars, the two-letter abbbreviation for the Member-State the car was registered in, e.g. "GB" for the UK (Great Britain). They are technically optoinal, but *must* be displayed if you trave outside the territory of one Member-State. However, interestingly, the old oval-shaped "GB" (or equivalent) sign must still be displayed if you go outside the EU.
re #1: engineer constrained by vanity-plate length restrictions,
or Hamlet fan? Did you check for petards?
GER MUSL (Diplomatic plate)
This doesn't quite fit in either category, but for every Darwin or Jesus fish on a car (usually a metal decal), I enjoy seeing the Vampire and Cthulu variants.
I don't think I've ever seen the Cthulhu one.. Sounds amusing..
spotted on my car: "Democracy, Whiskey, Sexy!""Dumb, Dumber, Dubya" and an outline of a dog made to look sorta like that christian *FISH THING*
WL DEEP (VA)
the Vampire one simply says 'Vampire' inside the fish and has fangs protruding from the bottom of the fish. the Cthulhu one is just a bumper sticker that is a fish modified to look like.. Cthulhu, sort of... with the tentacles... with 'Cthulhu' in the middle.

MI: EVILLSC. A Lawyer Services Corporation?
Saw my initials (RJM III) on a car on the Jersey Turnpike yesterday. The driver, appropriately enough, was a young, white, glasses-wearing male... (I haven't been on grex in half a decade and this is my first post? sheesh.)

JLG ANG (VA)
Earlier today, or maybe Thursday, I saw the Michigan plate KS CCRN with a Survival Flight license plate frame.
19: Eh. Jersey is about the last place I want to be right now (or ever again)
Only 3 more months 'til A2, though. (Actually, I signed on Grex again
because I was feeling homesick, and Grex is a lot cuddlier than, say,
the A2 News. Who is this sabre kid who thinks you look like a serial
killer, though? I don't remember him...)
No idea. Kind of amusing, though.

Not a recent sighting, but my favorite ever: "AZZKICKR" on a candy apple red ferrari... ...driven by a balding 40-something Montanan in stereotypical CPA garb.

A friend of mine recently was remarking about how cheap Ferrari Dinos have become. Apparently you can have one in nice condition for under $30k these days; they haven't held their value well at all.
Two cars, MI plates lined up next to each other in front of

Someone nearby has "STKEEN" but that probably doesn't mean much to the general population. I'm assuming they're fond of the (relatively) nearby Stikine / LeConte Wilderness Area.

Betty Boop works at the Secretary of State office in Maple Village, unless she has retired in the last few months. (And yes, that is the name on her badge; she says it's her nickname.)

GWU LAW (VA)
I've seen it around town.
Re #76: Hope your cells have good janitoral service. Gonna be a messy skull. ;-)
I'm going to have to keep an eye out for it. I don't understand the reason for it. Seems a Suburban, Navigator or full-size van would serve the purpose as well. Unless, of course, the purpose is merely "conspicuous consumption."
Wow factor.
I've seen it also, I always wonder if it has ever been off road, or even seen a gravel road.
Re #80: The reason is to look exotic. If you try to think of any more logical purpose for such a beast then you're thinking far too hard.
The MI bridge plate was dirty, so I'm not sure if I saw SMARTO or SMART0
There are no "O" characters on Michigan plates, they are all "0" (zero) I got into an argument with a Secy. Of State Employee about this. My ham call sign is on my car, which is K8MZO...but in reality it's K8MZ0...we need a slash though the 0 like some of the other states do.
KIDIKAR (VA)
I think you mean, goose, that *in reality* your call is K8MZO, but the ham call sign on your car is K8MZ0 (I was momentarily confused on what it was you did mean).
Sorry, that was written after I had taken some cold medicine. ;-) Yes, my plate has a zero at the end, however my call has the letter that falls between n and p at the end.
On a 70's (60's?) classic Pontiac Catalina: CATALNA On a white sports car: DANCGRL

PIERCQT (fram around plate read "I KNOW THE FUTURE - GOD WINS") Saw a white van with Illinois plate MSS ### (sorry, now I forget what the last 3 characters were) on westbound I-94 just east of I-275. Slogan on back door of van: How's your blood pressure? Check it regularly! I never did catch up to read what was on the side of the van, but undoubtedly "medical" and "services" were included. (I think that ### was INC)
Based on the license plate and slogan, I'm gonna guess that the word between "medical" and "services" was "sphygmomanometry."
Go to this URL if you want to see why that might just be correct! :-) http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=sphygmomanometry
I saw WEBMASTR this evening.
Saw a different type of Alaska plate than I'd seen before, a "State House" plate with "4" being the entirety of the plate number. Since it was on a pickup truck with a "Re-elect Bill Williams" bumper sticker on it, I presume it belongs to our local rep.

"Spray" painted on a rear window: Our soldier's coming home! 2 x BS on a puke-green new beetle: My karma ran over my dogma Well-behaved women never made history
(I usually see that last one as 'Well-behaved women rarely make history')
That's equally true of men (to the extent it is true). Why does the sticker pick on women? It should be "Well-behaved people....".
now i know what's right with me! /.
Re 180: It's a statement on the tendency to assume that males make most of the history changing achievements.
Re 180: It's a women's protest sticker, actually. If all women behaved the way they were supposed to, there would never have been women like Marie Curie, Selma Parks,...
Selma Parks? Would that be Rosa's sister?
Oh, I remember the one I was going to post. I saw this on a bumper sticker: "My golden retriever is smarter than your honor student"

I haven't actually seen this on a car, but apparently somebody decided to make a counter to the "Fundamentalism Stops A Thinking Mind" sticker. The counter is "CHRISTIAN FUNDAMENTALISM IS A Thinking Mind". That's not even clever.

On an L300 car (Saturn?): DIMA R (something like that) In the back window above the NASA sticker: wi-fi sniffer on board (what's wi-fi? what's a wi-fi sniffer?)
Wi-fi is 802.11b, a popular wireless network standard. A 'sniffer' is a device you use to detect and possibly eavesdrop on unsecured networks. Mobile wi-fi sniffing is also known as "wardriving", a word that derives from "war dialing", the practice of dialing all phone numbers in an exchange in sequence to locate computer modems. You may have seen this depicted in the movie _Wargames_.
