Had a pretty quiet 4th here. For logistic reasons, the big
holiday family gathering will be at our house today (the 5th) -
less quiet, more fun.

Thanks for the good wishes from the UK. You Brits sure are
good losers.  :)

Had a few resoundingly loud and pretty fireworks for about a half an hour
after the movie last night. Eventually the Ann Arbor police showed up to
report that complaints were mounting, and DPS informed us it was time to
stop. Fortunately, the last mortar had just been launched.

#6 of 26 by jmsaul on Sat Jul 5 18:11:16 2003:

Of course, DPS was sitting around watching that whole time. (I was there)

Where?

Don't forget that we have the French to thank for our freedom.

Re #8: Why do you think we call it Freedom Toast?

#11 of 26 by klg on Sat Jul 5 20:27:06 2003:

Mr. rcurl,

We thought our freedom has been taken away since the last presidential
election.

#12 of 26 by rcurl on Sat Jul 5 20:41:39 2003:

We have some left, though it is being degraded by your ilk.

#13 of 26 by klg on Sat Jul 5 20:52:48 2003:

(Do not despair. We'll take care of that.)

French = Freedom

#16 of 26 by jazz on Sun Jul 6 21:35:40 2003:

        So engage in as much freedom kissing as possible, and if that works
out for you, find yourself a freedom tickler condom.

#17 of 26 by gregb on Mon Jul 7 21:58:02 2003:

French = Toast  B-)

#18 of 26 by orinoco on Tue Jul 8 00:32:11 2003:

Therefore, Freedom must be equal to Toast.

#19 of 26 by slynne on Tue Jul 8 17:31:43 2003:

Well, it *is* one of the few foods one can easily eat while on the go.
That is kind of like freedom ;)
