Does anyone know of any restaurants in southeast Michigan that serves 
rhubarb pie. A friend of mine wants to know. I saw some in southern 
Indiana last month. 

Baker's Square in Canton serves strawberry-rhubarb but not just rhubarb 
pie.

It's not the rhubarb season, so you'll have to count on finding someone/where
that has frozen or canned some from last spring's crop.  I don't think food
service suppliers carry plain ol' rhubarb pie filling.

I'm intrigued by that one too.  I assume it would have to be one where a cook
is making pies by hand, including the fillings.  THAT would be a restaurant
worth knowing about.

Good question.  I haven't had rhubarb pie in a couple of years.  The
cafeteria at Michigan Tech used to make a pretty decent
strawberry-rhubarb pie on occasion.

By summer, the rhubarb has grown certain amount of woody tissue.  Similar to
the tiny trees that used to be asparagus, overgrown rhubarb will have
parts that will not cook tender. Well, it's a great chance to pretend
you're a ruminant.
