Item 113: I Don't Wanna Know

Entered by twenex on Thu Jul 24 10:37:32 2003:

I don't wanna know the reason why,
Windows keeps crashin' on me, all the time,
I don't wanna have to fix it up, Billy,
I just want it to run fine,
I don't wanna know the reasons why,
Windows keeps crashin' on me, all the time,
I don't wanna have to fix it up, Billy,
I just want it to run fine,
Finally, baby, Linux is prime-time now,
So Windows why don't you just junk it, For Crying Out Loud?
Users who believe, they say it's lovely, but they don't know
It's got me rockin' and reelin', whoa-oh, yeah
I don't wanna know the reasons why,
Windows keeps crashin' on me, all the time,
I don't wanna have to fix it up, Billy,
I just want it to run fine,
I don't wana know the reasons why,
Windows keeps crashin' on me, all the time,
I don't wanna have to fix it up, Billy,
I just want it to run fine,
And they all tell me, UNIX is so old,
And they tell me that I'm crazy,
But there's something they don't know,
UNIX has survived, cos it runs when Windows won't go,
'doze is a crock, the paint is peelin', I'm hanging on to UNIX,
whoa-oh, yeah
I don't wanna know the reasons why Windows is still, on the production line,
So what if learning 'ministration, takes a little time?

...

Oh-oh-oh, Next time Windows blows...

XP kicks ass.....linux sucks on laptops.

One person's opinion. Simple breeds simple. I like linux just fine
on all my laptops.
Of course it's a challenge, and I love challenges. Others don't.

re#2: Which OS was it that recently released a whole slew of "critical"
patches last week?
(Unpatched XP will allow somebody else to have XP kick your ass...)
re#3: Yep. Linux or FreeBSD will usually run on even older laptops just
fine where XP hasn't a chance and won't even try.

I like Linux on my iBook quite a lot. OSX for communications, Linux for real
work. :)

I've got Red Hat installed on my Dell laptop, works fine. Never used OSX.

i am also enjoying linux on my ibook. i still run osx on a partition, but
never boot into it directly, but instead use mol (Mac-on-Linux). tried this
scott? it works great, though i am having sound problems at the moment. and
scott what distribution are you using?

I'm using YDL 3.0. I have tried mol, but I think I fiddled with it too much
before trying it out properly and so the screen stuff is a bit hosed up in
the Mac window. Pretty soo I'm going to brainwipe and rebuild lil' ibby and
see if I can get stuff working better. A lot of cruft has accumulated on the
OS X side, too.
