The Wolf The eyes, they pierce the evening's night. They stab the darkness. Breathe life into light. They stare at you, reluctantly they share your heart. Through world of laughter or world apart. They study movement of body and eye. Their keen sense of smell, can tell truth from a lie. They weed out unfaithful, by walking away. The devoted return day after day. They dash through the fields with athletic grace. In tuned with their bodies, their heart keeps the pace. They weave through the forest. Race with the moon. Their cry is for peace at the edge of the dune. Reluctant to most, they will choose a few, To open their hearts, to those that are true. The others they trust, will still be their friend. Secrets can hide. But secrets can mend.
