Newsletters. I have recently been elected newsletter editor for MACRO (Michigan Amiga Computer Resource Organization). I have done 2 disk based newsletters so far. I now have to do a traditional paper based newsletter. This is something I have never done before. And I would very much appreciate any hints, tips, or suggestions anyone might have. Also this Item can be used for general newsletter discussions, producing them , reading them and anything else related.

I do several newsletter: the ARROW ham radio club, the American Society for Test Engineers (ASTE), and one of my own --OnTour, the Newsletter for Bicycle Tourists. The biggest problem I have is getting people to submit articles for them. I haven't produced an ASTE newsletter for about six months, for example, because noone has submitted anything. You can't write the whole thing yourself month after month. Another problem I have is getting good clipart. Of course, getting computer clip art might be easier than for bicycle touring. At any rate, it's a good idea to mix figures and text. Pages of plain text is hard to read. If you'd like to come over some time, I'll show you the newsletters I've done.
How do you handle advertizing ?
The only one that has any kind of advertising is the ARROW newsletter, and that is only free-of-charge ads for members.
Dan, if you have trouble finding clip art for bicycle touring, try finding it for the Middle Ages. I edit the newsletter for the local SCA group and use clip art to fill in holes and on the cover. Dover Press does have some good books, but not enough diversity. I agree that getting people to submit articles is the hardest part of doing a newsletter. I thank all the gods that I have a calender and business meeting minutes to print every month. If I didn't there would be a lot of months that would have no newsletter.
Where is the place to pickup dover press clip art books ? I've seen a few around, but none that meet my needs.
I don't know about Dover Press books, but Borders has a big selection of clip art books.
There is an Art Supply shop in Briarwood that has a lot of the Dover Press clip art books, as well as a lot of others. I was recently told that Walden Books has a particular book for my uses, so I assume that they probably have others as well.
If you are refereing to Creative World, I went to the mall to go there a couple of months ago, and found a blank wall where their store should have been.
