Standing alone
She is standing alone
Why?
This is wrong
Her hair is flowing in the cool, sad lake breeze
(Should I...? Yes.)
I walk up behind her
She hears me and turns away from the sunset,
the burnt amber redness spilling from behind the horizon
sneeks over her shoulder and falls on my chest.
She is crying
Why?
This is wrong all wrong
She falls into my arms and begins to sob
Wrong all wrong
Then love
Then love
Then love hits me, it HITS me
Like her tears hitting my shirt
Like the sun hitting my eyes
Like the breeze hitting us both
Love hits me
I sqeeze her tight
I hold her with my whole being
With my arms
With my eyes
With my words
With my words
She stops crying
She looks up into me and smiles
Right all right
I smile back and realize I'm now crying
Now it is all right
So this is what love is like
All right

This is really out of character for me, kinda, but I felt it, so I wrote it. It is for someone I consider one of the most understanding, caring, and supportive people in my little world.
I like it fraizer- I like the images you use... I'm by far not an expert on poetry- but I like it. You evoked emotions very well. :)
beautiful
thanx
Eric, this poem brings tears to my eyes...It is truly beautiful. I can't express to you what I feel. The honesty in it, the beauty. The wonderful way you use the sunset... This poem makes me want to smile and weep at the same time.
That means a lot, Melly. Thanx. I don't do this knid of poem often. I'm glad you like it. .
