A big part of web design is incorporating graphics. However the amount of time it takes to develop those graphics is enormous. As a result, a lot of amateur and professional web designers use stock photography obtained on the web. So, where do you get your stock photography?

For a long time I've used iStockphoto.com for my professional work, but now I'm finding Wikimedia Commons selection to be improving.
Actually, I supply stock photos to iStock. Under the name "YoyoDyne Tech". A friend of mine and I are YoyoDyne. He is the photographer (mostly) and I'm the business side. Except when I have some cool photos to share.
The name "Yoyodyne", apparently from a Pynchon novel, seems to have been adopted by a amazing variety of companies: autoparts, entertainment, direct marketing - and stock photos. I suppose it was not protected as a trademark.
Yoyodyne is from "The Crying of Lot 49" and from the movie Buckaroo Bonzai. in the novel, it is a southern california defense contractor. In the movie, it is the bad guys.
In the Star Trek universe, Yoyodyne Propulsion Systems makes parts for Federation Starships.
and yoyodyneindustries.com seems to be an alias for hubbb.com
There wouldn't be a trademark problem unless it was used by more than one entity for the same industry.
...or one of them thinks they have a priority to its use. Perhaps its use in a novel prevents other trademark claims.
i use some stock photos on certian media items when selling on ebay, aside from that i rarely use them, i try to use my own images, but thats harder that it should be sometimes.....
