I need help on FTP, all about it...

Read the files roadmap.intro and roadmap.index, in the directory /bbs/roadmap This leads you into tutorials on internet use. The FTP tutorials are in the files roadmap.21 and roadmap.22, in that directory. (e.g., enter more /bbs/roadmap/roadmap.intro)
Hey Rane, how do I send that command to my email so I can capture it and try it? I am stupid about FTPs (don't even know what it stands for) also!
Enter the command here. The files chosen will scroll on your screen. Can you do a screen print /selection/? If you use pine for e-mail, you can also use the ^R command to read the file into a message to yourself (on another machine?). (That can be done in mail too, but pine leads you with menus.) After you have studied the tutorials, you should be able to try to steps to do an FTP. There are several steps, as you must start ftp and then tell it to send a particular file. I like to use clients for this, and avoid having to remember the telnet commands!
I am really confused now! Sorry! I told you I was computer illiterate! What command do I enter? How do I send it to pine at my capaccess address?
I think I am unclear on what you want to do. Do you want to send the file
/bbs/roadmap/roadmap.intro to yourself at another location from grex? If
that is what you want to do, write /bbs/roadmap/roadmap.intro into the
"Attachment" line in pine. You don't need to send any message per-se.
*Alternately*, in the message part of pine, enter a ^R, and it will ask you
what file to attach: write in that file name. But I really suggest that
you read the file *here*. At any prompt, write and enter
more /bbs/roadmap/roadmap.intro
You can then do similarly for any of the other files you want to
read.
If this is not clear, restate exactly what you would like to do.
Thanks for the info...since it has been several months since I was online, I will have to go back and look to see what, indeed, I really wanted to do. Thanks Rane!
I sometimes have that problem, even though I log in nearly daily. 8^\
