This is not a comma test, but rather a test to see how fast vi fires up
when I have edalways set. Not to bad response time... ('course there's
only two of us on at the moment...)

#7 of 28 by mju on Sat Jul 27 14:59:50 1991:

Actually, the big problem with using "vi" with edalways is that it clears
your screen -- probably erasing the very response that you were going to
reply to. I have enough trouble making a coherent response with the text
I'm responding to in front of me; it's almost impossible if I have to try
to remember it.

#8 of 28 by morel on Sat Jul 27 16:21:24 1991:

Yeah, I've noticed you having that problem, Marc. ;-)

That's where scroll buffers come in handy.

re #7: I guess you would be happy to have the text in a windowed capture
buffer. I can switch back and forth between the online screen and the
capture window to see any previous text.

I think of all the items on Grex, I like this one best.

#18 of 28 by remmers on Mon Feb 28 01:40:23 1994:

It's certainly one of the most ancient. Look at the dates
on the first few responses.

#20 of 28 by zelda on Thu Oct 19 02:21:41 1995:

Is anybody on here now? Is this in real time?

#21 of 28 by remmers on Thu Oct 19 09:50:45 1995:

Nope, this is time-shifted communication. For real-time,
go to "party".

#22 of 28 by orinoco on Thu Oct 19 19:47:13 1995:

And for those who can't afford real time, you can get a tasteful plastic
replica for only $19.95...

#23 of 28 by remmers on Sat Oct 21 12:45:21 1995:

...from your friendly neighborhood time bandit.

#24 of 28 by orinoco on Sat Oct 21 14:40:41 1995:

Also known as a one-armed bandit after a recent mishap in the Jurassic.

#25 of 28 by orinoco on Sun Sep 1 23:04:23 1996:

In retrospect, I still like this item the best...
