Hello !!
20 responses total.
anybody there ?
Nope, nobody at all! But welcome anyway.
this is a test this is only a test had this been a real response i'd have had something interesting to say
<you know, I've got the funny feeling I've seen this sort of item before....but I just can't think where...>
Must've been agora or coop.
this item doesn't appear to be linked...
How can we test this?
Polling everyone who reads any conferences and asking if they've seen this item. Or just taking a sample and doing some statisical analysis.
It's easiest to sample no data and test the null hypothesis on it. The results are bound to beInterrupt!
"beInterrupt!"? <lee scratches her head and wonders about life and the universe and the sense of that last response>

I doubt your assumption (that the reason more women aren't on Grex walks is because the are scared of computers or don't find them useful in their lives) is accurate. I'd start with how women have less leisure time than men, on average, and what little they have is spent very carefully. I know of my outside interests, if push came to shove, Grex would go first.

Well, most of the people I know with far too much time on their hands are male...
Well maybe all the people seen goofing off are men... I'm included to think it's a more generational thing, there are women using computers and such, but a generation ago, it was almost unheard of. I know my mother is wary of computers but all of us sisters (who are all, btw, under 25) don't have a problem sitting in front of a computer and pressing keys to see what happens, even though none of us have any formal computer training.
The gender gap for computer *users* seems to be leveling out, but most of the frightening obsessive geeks are still male...our gender seems to be cursed.
