Recently, I have had several wonderfully numinous experiences
(numinous=religious awe that does not imply the presence of a god) 
Unfortunately, the awe seems to be fading fast.  I have virtually no knowledge
of anything being discussed on this .cf, but I want to know what a beginner
could to to preserve these experiences.  Help me, those of you who know what
you're doing!@

It normally happens when I'm either lost in thought or looking at some
sort of scenery, when WHAM!, this overpowering sense of how unlikely and
wonderful it is that things even *exist*, let alone being the way they are.
It's hard to describe, really.

that normally happens when you are down, or whatevedr,  i love it when that
ha[ppens!  it's like momma earth's way of saying she cares!

Anyway, having thought stuff n' stuff over for a while, I have become
interested in some of the other stuff on this .cf, meditation, astral stuff,
etc.  This is not directly related to the reason i entered this, but since the
Q&A item is now drifting, i thought i'd bring it up here.  Specifically, how
the heck do you contact "other beings".  Sounds interesting.

i spend alot of time outdoors and i really have been practicing seeing the 
divine in nature.  it takes a while to see what is divine in a bog --
its a wet smelly place that is hard to walk in.  but then you see the 
wonderful plants that live there and what fun mud is.  great

re: #8- Why do you want to "contact other beings"?  Do you have any idea
what sort of other beings you mean? These answers make a difference.

Val- good point.  I'm not too good with swamps either, or cities, and I
have a rather rough relationship with wind. But it's good to get those
blind spots resolved, and bog plants are really amazing.

Well i was looking at the channelling item and it looked interesting, but the
beginner's Q&A item is drifting, so I brought the question here.  I don't know
squat about this stuff, but I am intrigued.

good place to start, but you still haven't answered my questions. We can't
necessarily know what to tell you without a bit more clarification, and 
sometimes the process of refining the question brings out an answer.

 Hi, Eldrich here! I'm a newcome to synthesis and like Orin am very interested 
 with channeling and your channeling item. Going back to the begining of this  
   item I'm suprised to find that other people have that sort of exsperience,  
 
personaly it's been happening to me since but primaraly when I was fairly young
. It's realy a great sensation to be abile to sort of step back and come to t  
 terms with simply exstisting and what a wonderful thing it is. As I sai
channeling intriges me and i would *love* to learn how you contact a "being of 
light" as pegasus put it in the channeling item and over all how to begin a    
exsperence like channeling. In the channeling item I think it was pegasus who
said that she had begun her   jorney with a book called opening to channeling
by the pair I think it was, does anyone know where I would find that kind of
thing? I' occult bookstore item so does anyone have suggestions off that list?

two?

I think the deafening silence punctuated with static you are getting
reflects a profound and general ignorance on most of our parts.  Sorry,
It's a big and complex universe, adn we can't all know about everything.
Wish we could be of more help.  Please sehare what you learn.  Um, you
might try to lure Pegasus back here, if you want- she reads Rialto
pretty regularly.  We didn't mean to chase her away...
