Grex Synthesis Item 57: An open letter to all pagans, Bi's, and lusty creatures..
Entered by selena on Tue Nov 8 16:54:39 UTC 1994:

Hello. As this shall be my first item ever entered here on Grex,
i hope you will be kind enough to overlook any minor flaws that may arise.

I am highly interested in several things; first of all paganism, in
all its' myriad forms, has always held a strong attraction for me. secondly,
I am (perhaps too) intersested in sex, and all the wonderful ways it can
take shape. Thirdly, I'm bisexual, and have always had difficulty
meetingothers. My question, then, is is there anyone else here at all like I
am? Even two of the three above points would be close enough for my taste.

One last thing; if you are too uncomfortable with publically responding
I spend a lot of time in party, or you could mail me.

#2 of 110 by eeyore on Tue Nov 8 18:25:13 1994:

greetings and salutations!! obviously, everybody on this cf is interested in
paganism in some form or another, and most of us are interested in sex.
ask away! those who know anything will usually answer. and don't worry.
most item's i've stuck in somewhere are screwed somehow or antother.

#3 of 110 by kami on Tue Nov 8 18:32:02 1994:

Scads of paganfolk of various sorts on this system. Many of us enjoy sex.
A few are even bi. the tone of this particular conference seems to be an
odd mix of very serious, even scholarly, discussion of the details of various
pagan traditions and magical skills combined with some utterly silly, friendly
by-play and horsing around. Usually by the same people...<g>
For example, have you any experience working with sex magic or tantra? Have
you found the energy in single-sex groups or those led by gay couples to
be much diffent than in mixed/hetero groups? Have you found magical
compatibility and sexual attraction going together or being mutually exclusive?
Do you think the percentage of bi/gay pagans is any higher than in mainstream
society? What about the percentage of members of non-standard households in
the pagan community? How does your sexuality fit in to your religion? These
are all the sorts of questions that would be really interesting to explore.
After you've been around a while, you will probably find that you get ribbed
a bit, join in the silliness, etc. and in general, that we are all friends
here.
Be very welcome, Selena.

Blessed Be, Selena! Welcome and I'm sure that you'll find someone to answer
just about any question you may have...

#5 of 110 by brighn on Tue Nov 8 20:38:13 1994:

One question I'd like to answer: I'm still going to contend, that while
the ratio of bis and gays to hets is probably only slightly higher in the Pagan
community, the ratio of open bis and gays is probably higher. Most people
who know I'm a Pagan know I'm bi, and vice-versa.

#6 of 110 by kami on Tue Nov 8 21:59:01 1994:

Sounds about right, Brighn.

#7 of 110 by robh on Wed Nov 9 00:31:07 1994:

Re 0 - Sorry, I'm only one of those three, you'll have to
guess which one. >8)

Brighn - Makes sense to me. If you're out of the broom
closet with your friends, you may as well be out of the
sexual-orientation closet as well.

#8 of 110 by brighn on Wed Nov 9 06:28:38 1994:

Aw, gee, Rob, you don't have even the slightest interest in sex?

#9 of 110 by phaedrus on Thu Nov 10 13:38:13 1994:

Ok...seriously. Are there folks out there who are *really* not interested
in sex?? REALLY??!! I didn't think that was possible!!

#10 of 110 by eeyore on Thu Nov 10 13:39:02 1994:

i didn't hink so either, but then heh, what do i know?
 :)

#11 of 110 by selena on Thu Nov 10 20:21:12 1994:

It's just as possible that someone wouldn't be interested in sex,
as it is possible that I'd be so damn preoccupied with it. It's called
the sex drive, and everyone has their own individual "idle" rates. I've
recieved plenty of ribbing about mine, in the past, so let's not get on
robh for being at the opposite extreme, okay? For one thing, it's a
major turn-off..

#12 of 110 by robh on Fri Nov 11 03:46:29 1994:

Thank you!!!

#13 of 110 by brighn on Sat Nov 12 00:28:52 1994:

<brighn comforts rob and apologizes>
I was just surprised; I didn't mean to set off a series of jabs.

#14 of 110 by fireball on Sun Nov 13 22:58:25 1994:

most people may have an 'idle rate', but I think my acclerator is
stuck!! DOWN!
<sigh, grumble>

#15 of 110 by dang on Wed Nov 16 19:27:30 1994:

Well, I'm one out of three, and it ain't the one rob is. :) Poor
fireball. I do sympathise. :0

#19 of 110 by gerund on Thu Nov 17 17:57:07 1994:

Did *I* ever say it got better?

#20 of 110 by eeyore on Thu Nov 17 17:58:35 1994:

well, i'll let you know when i get to 19. right now, it would be great if
i could find sleep. if 19 gives me sleep, then i'll love 19!

#21 of 110 by kami on Thu Nov 17 18:40:07 1994:

sleep? Sleep is for turtles. think of all the sleep you'll get when you're
dead. <g>

#22 of 110 by eeyore on Thu Nov 17 18:42:36 1994:

yeah, well i need sleep NOW!!!!!!!

#23 of 110 by gerund on Thu Nov 17 18:48:22 1994:

Am I the only one who constantly sees the conection there and the obvious
thing it suggests? I gues I'm the only morbid one in the bunch.
That's a good thing, I'm sure.

#24 of 110 by dang on Thu Nov 17 18:59:52 1994:

okay, where's my sleep?

#25 of 110 by eeyore on Thu Nov 17 19:00:19 1994:

no, i'm just not thinking clearly enough to be morbid!!

#26 of 110 by gerund on Thu Nov 17 19:05:40 1994:

Oh I hate it when that happens.
Or do I...? hmm... thought for food.

#27 of 110 by kami on Thu Nov 17 20:14:07 1994:

#28 of 110 by eeyore on Fri Nov 18 16:01:22 1994:

i HATE twinkies!!!!!

what happened to your sleep?

#29 of 110 by selena on Fri Nov 18 17:06:33 1994:

Twinkies? My gods I should check in on this item more often..

#30 of 110 by dang on Fri Nov 18 17:24:52 1994:

You said sleep id for turtles, and I'm a turtle, so where's my sleep? I
want my sleep! Twinkies are good too.

#31 of 110 by gerund on Fri Nov 18 21:58:20 1994:

Twinkie is a little droid in that old Buck Rogers show.

as for those cake like thingies... well, i still, i think, work
in a bakery, so don't talk to me about cake thingies.

#32 of 110 by cyberpnk on Sat Nov 19 19:53:16 1994:

Sleep? It's in K-Mart, asile 7, right next to the housewares.

#33 of 110 by anne on Sat Nov 19 20:02:40 1994:

And it's on sale this week too!

#34 of 110 by gerund on Sat Nov 19 22:40:08 1994:

Too bad I'm broke.

#35 of 110 by brighn on Sat Nov 19 23:09:57 1994:

Aw, c'mon down with me , Gerund. I'll buy you some. My treat.

#36 of 110 by selena on Sun Nov 20 20:10:40 1994:

If I'm not mistaken, grund, the robot in "Buck Rogers" was called
"Twiggie".. In any case, what are some of your views on Bisexuality and
Faith? How about over-horniness and Faith? How about BOTH (Like me)?

#37 of 110 by gerund on Mon Nov 21 02:53:04 1994:

It's GERUND. If you can screw my name I can screw a fictional robot's name.
Bisexuality exists.
Faith exists.
Over-horniness and Faith exist.

These are as far as my views go.

#38 of 110 by selena on Mon Nov 21 18:18:38 1994:

I realised far too late how silly that loked, gerund; I apologize.
Thank you for giving me your viewpoint, in spite of my error.
Anyone else have anything to say on #36?

#39 of 110 by gerund on Mon Nov 21 18:39:24 1994:

I'm sorry. I get over sensitive about a lot, but my name can
cause me to have spontanious PMS when it's spelled wrong.
