tarrot reading, astrology, and dream interpetation. All I'm looking for is

expect from this, but it intrests me, so . . . I'd like any help I could get.

Let's see if I can wade through this line noise... The best place in the Ann Arbor area is Crazy Wisdom, on Fourth Street by Ann. They have loads of books and tarot decks and such. Nearer Detroit, I'm told the Mayflower book store is excellent.
What about Bell Book and Candle in Ypsilanti?
Borders in Birmingham has a big selection. The Michigan Metaphysical Society has a bookstore on 12 Mile Road in Berkeley.
I think Bell, book and candle is out of business isn't it? I have to agree with Rob, Crazy wisdon is one of the best for books and supplie s. The Mayflower is cool, a little trendy, filled with teenages with pale skin ...wearing black... I post a number for a great store called Roots and Wings, they're acctually more like distributers, they run the shop out of their home, prices are great. Has anyone been to the Middle earth book shop in Stearling Heights?? Also the Mystic Curio, or whatever it's called now, in Mount Clemmons is nice. -phaedrus
What about Falling Water in Ann Arbor? I'm no expert for obvious reasons.
He He He....
For "liquid" herbs and pre-made tinctures, I recommend Seva restaurant and market in Ann Arbor. I think it is on East Liberty...right across from the Bead Gallery. :)
Hello, Morgayn! Welcome to Grex... <brighn gets a strange sudden urge for berries>
Hey there, brighn. You big old silly you... Berries, eh? Well, unfortunately,
the jar of jelly I had brought with me vanished...I think now I have a good
idea of who took my jar of very rare boysenberry jelly.....
<Eyes Brighn suspiciously>
<brighn is licking his sticky fingers nonchalantly> Er? What? Did someone say smething about Boysenberry jelly?
Hi morgayn! <anne grins>
Welcome, morgayn. Look forward to your contributions to this conference. And thanks, Anne, for getting Melly Ann hooked, er hooked up. <g>
Shhh! we're not supposed to tell about the addictive qualities kami! :)
greetings and salivations, morgayn!! :)
justin: don't wory, morgayn has already heard ALL about it...
Heard what? All about what? <acts innocent> You know what Brighn? I don't think anyone ever told you about the side effects of boysenberry jelly.... <laughs to herself> When your hand mysteriously turns purple, then I will tell youthe jelly is rare. Contributions? heh heh. <grins mischeviously> Greetings and salivations to you all as well. <curtsies>
Oh, good, that was the boysenberry jelly. I thought it was something else doing that to my hands... My other's warnings had come true... *phew*
Brighn you silly silly you. :) Yes, but there are OTHER side effects. SOme which are inappropriate for me to post publicly. But, we'll let you discover those all on your own. <Winks as a sly grin crosses her face>
you'll find that most of what is unnacceptable in real life is acceptable in the vomit cf. not that i suggest you go there...it even got to ME!!!!
Well hello Melly-lou. Long time no see! were you aware I came here? Tajh says hi.
*Eeep!* Those side effects. <brighn cries>
<smiles innocently> Brighn, you silly... Don't you know all you must do is ask
me for the antidote? Lucky for you, boysenberry jelly isn't fatal. After what
happened yesterday? Eeyore, vomit? Hmmm... Sounds to me like one of those many
sections here in our little world of Grex that I simply MUST avoid. Sera,
ummmm...truth be told? Yes, dear, I knew you were here. I was told yesterday,
in fact.
You know what everyone? If Kami were to come by here and read this, she
would most certainly want to know WHY we have drifted WAY off topic. Does
anyone know of any other stores in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area? Morg
<brighn taps his heels together three times: There no place like topic, there's no place like topic, there's no place like topic> Well, #0 didn't specify the Ann Arbor area, so we can't we turn this into a whole Michigan area thang, or even an internation thang? The Lansing area has Triple Goddess, in Okemos. The best selection, but that's not saying much in this town. *sigh* But Dawne (the owner) is a sweetie and will order just about anything you care to have (as long as it's legal and relevant to the shop). There's also Mountain Books, on Waverly in Lansing, with mostly astrology stuff and incense... lots of incense. Mayflower Books in Berkley (12 mile) has the largest book collection I've ever seen outside of the major chains, and his books are all on religion... choose your religion (atheists need not apply, though). Already mentioned was Michigan Metaphysical, also on 12 mile, but I think they may be defunct or at any rate seriously struggling by now... Mayflower seems to be drowning them out. Fuch's on Gratiot in downtown Detroit has a wonderful collection of candles and other supplies. It's primarily aimed at Voudon/Santeria (and mass consumption sterotypes of those, yet), so some of the stuff is a bit odd for my tastes, but that's what religious diversity is all about, and it does have some excellent stuff for the Wiccan. In Ann Arbor, there's Crazy Wisdom, Falling Water, a small section of books in Common Language, and surely a few others... poke around the Fourth Street/Main Street shops, and you'll be surprised what you find. Refreshingly liberal (coming from a Lansingite). Since I'm giving my exhaustive list, I should also mention the Occult Shop in Toronto. Clever name: "The Occult Shop". Fairly decent stuff, at reasonable prices. *There* How's that for back on topic? What stores did I miss?
four winds on main street on ann arbor. i don't think many books, but wonderful stones and such...it's native american! :)
You have forgotten Seva on East Liberty in Ann Arbor. They have a wonderful
selection of liquid herbs and such. I know the person who makes some of the
tinctures and they do a very good job. They also are very knowledgeable and
can help you to find things. I also know of a market where you can get some
rare herbs but I will have to look it up.
<Hooray for the Chief Inquisitor!!!>

where? address?
Address for which, Meg? Seva, or the other one? Morg/Melly
Earth Wisdom music is next to Seva, with New-Age music, classy posters and T-shirts, etc. Gateway to Africa on 4th where the co-op used to be has books, jewelry, drums, etc. relevant to their theme. Actually, that whole block of 4th is amusing, as is the candle shop in Kerrytown. Has anyone mentioned Dawntreader?
Good thinking, Kami. Earth Wisdom is thumbs up. I have never been into any of the Kerrytown shops myself, but they have been highly recommended to me by many.
Hmmm... I was kind of interested to know if there's something off of fourth or main. Almost all of the stores are one those two streets.
i do recomend dawn treader...it's really not to bad! i don't recomend barnes and noble. they seemd too "new age hippy" to me.
I agree Megs, definately not one we should be adding to our list of "musts". I think what irritated me about Barnes and Noble was the fact that it seemed as though they are carrying those books just because they think it is "hot" right now. :( Paganism is NOT a fad!
OTOH, it is nice that Borders puts the "alternative living religions" books near the Christian and Judiaca in two of the Borders I've been in (Ann Arbor and Southfield). The one in Southfield also includes the mythology (i.e. "dead religions") books, although the Ann Arbor one puts them yards away. I'm seriously thinking about boycotting B&N, based on some of the books I've seen on B&N Press... anti-Pagan titles. But that would leave me without a SuperStore up here in Lansing. :( <brighn is torn... does helove books enough to ignore ideological differences?>
You-all might also want to check-out Coventry Creations, In Detroit (East side) on Mack Ave. Near Cadieux. They've some really neat goodies there, and make *wonderful* candles. I know it's a bit of a drive for the A^A folks, but IMO, it's well worth it. The owners are pretty neat, too.
A pagan store, on the edge of Grosse Pointe? <morgayn laughs> I know exactly where that is, Ounce. I used to live there long, LONG ago and I still go back on occasion to visit friends and family. I will have to check it out next time I am down there. Thanks!
Here in Abilene, TX there is a Hastings that has an excellent section on pagan and related books as well as a section for gay and lesbian books.
Cool! A view of Texas outside the stereotype. Glad to hear it. Hey Ounce, does Coventry need more ConVocation fliers? (um, thanks for the name change. Much more comfortable, dear. How're you feeling? My trade-off still works: I had a migraine instead of the bloody plague) Brighn, go ahead and boycott, after all, it's not like you never get to A^2 or anything...<g>.
Kami, I've been talked into going (it wasn't that hard for Val to do though) So I will be needing a registration form.. otay?
DOne that. Who else?
