Grex Synthesis Item 125: Pagan Clip Art Sources...
Entered by mta on Sat Aug 15 17:02:51 UTC 1998:

I'm helping to put out a small pagan newsletter and am having trouble coming
up with *appropriate* filler art. (Clip art is easy, but as we all know, clip
art looks pretty much like what it is. <g>).

So, my question: does anyone here know of a source of pagan clip art on the
web? Does anyone have any idea how to constrcut a search that would turn up
any that's out there? I've tried everything that came to mind and so far
haven't even found anything appropriate on Athropological sites.

Thanks...

Don't know sorry. On the other hand, I know I few people who might be able
to be convinced to create some art for you. One's a friend, I might have to
bribe the other one. I'd pay my friend too, but only out of kindness.

Have you seen any of Robin Wood's "Pagan clip art" disks? Sue Gross is one
person who would know where to look, Brighn is another. A couple of others
come to mind, who do pagan publishing and have found useable art, but I'm not
sure you know them. I'll put you in touch.

Robin's webpage is http://www.robinwood.com/Livingtree.html This has a
catalogue of her stuff.
Or just http://www.robinwood.com

mta, if you'll send me your snail-mail address I'll send to you some very nice
'filler'. I worked on a coven magazine for a number of years and am still
involved in doing work as an artist.

The problem with taking art off the web is that it may be copywritten even
if it doesn't appear to be so on the site you get it from. Too many Website
creators are oblivious to or indifferent to copyright laws, and have stolen
art without giving credit.

Misti, I am sorry that I have not been able to send you any art, as
of this time. But, I am living in my van and have had to put most all of my
possesions into storage. I will try to get you something as soon as is
possible. I am sorry for any inconvience that this may have caused.

Misti

On the web there is a webring of pagan graphics. if you go to www.wegring.com
and do a search for pagan and graphics and it will take you to the homepage
and you can follow the ring from there and see if it provides any useful art.

RE #9 I believe you meant "www.webring.com" for that Web site, erika.
Am I correct on that?
