Well football season will start soon. So enter comments about the Lions here.
28 responses total.
(that was an AWFULLY sneaky way to erase my perfectly valid comment about Wayne Fontes.)
I think that Wayne Fontes is Lion down on the job. ;)
But as Carson said he did do a good job a couple years back when they won the division title.....
I think Wayne Fontes is/will be as good a coach as Scott Mitchell proves to be a good quarterback! :-) So far, results are encouraging. And maybe A.C. can show us some (more) of the form we got used to seeing in his U-M and Panther days.
But that was 12 yrs ago. I'm not looking for AC to do anything really special.
Well lets see what he can do. What other prospects are there for the Lions?
The new Quarterback... I forgot his name, but everyone is pinning thier hopes on him. It'll be an awful sight when the Lions begin thier old losing ways. The Lions have let so much talent slip by it's not funny. They need a new front office, and possibly-- new ownership. William Clay Ford ain't that rich, and without talent, the Lions will never, and I repeat never get into a Super Bowl, unless they all buy tickets ;)
Well whats going on with other teams???
(I'm afraid to ask. The last time I did, you killed the item.)
Hey I'm a big lions fan...I can't wait for tonight's monday night game...Let's
hope they kill those stinkin' cowboys. {I hate dallas}! All I have to
sayTouchdown Barry Sanders!
After a 4th chance to put the game away/win it, Jason Hanson & the Lions finally beat them 'boys, 20-17 with about a half a minute left in overtime. Barry ran "wild" for 190+ yards, but did not score a touchdown. Detroit got its 2 TD's on passes from Mitchell to Perriman & H.Moore. 3 late turnovers killed any chances Dallas had for a comeback to win, after having tied things up at 17 with under 5 minutes left in the game, having been down 17-7. Overall, a very entertaining game, and pretty much close all the way.
YAY!
They just got lucky. I'll be the first to admit that Detroit did play a decent game, but they still suck!! GO PACKERS!!.
yep! go pack!
It sure is nice to see that there are some packer fans around here!
actualy, I was making a pun... I like green, though.
The Pack is Back. Way back.
They won didn't they.
so did the Lions. More often this season, in fact. ;)
I'm very glad the Lions beat the Cowboys (I'm a big Cowboy Hater!). But personally, I'm a huge Chiefs fan, even though they were humiliated at home by the Rams, they still have what it takes to go all the Way!! Btw, are there any other Chiefs fans out there?
yes the lion's did beat the cowboys, but unfortunatly in the NFL ya can't make it to the super bowl by beating only the cowboys. They beat the cowboys and lost to tampa and new england go figure.
aah, but if you win the NFC title game, you've won the Super Bowl. ;)
who's says the lions or the cowboys will make it to the NFC title game. I think It'll be SF and NY
I say the cowboys will make it to the Super Bowl again, and have a very good chance of winning it. Also, the Vikings are looking good too this year. The only thing that the Lions have the chance of winning is Barry Sanders and his chance to win the all time leading rusher award for this season. Emmitt Smith is his only competitor really against him. It could be a close one, espspecially if Barry only runs for 47 yards a game and Emmitt continues to rack up the big 162 yards like he did in last nights game. Emmitt could get it 4 years in a row.
emmitt is number one. don't say anyhting else. the cowboys are the best. take it from one their biggest haters. \you can put deion sanders on michael irvin and eric davis on alvin harper, but you have noone else to cover the man named emmitt. Knicks are number one!
As an inveterate Cowboy hater, and one who also despises their new coach, I am inclined to agree. The Knicks pay basketball.
What is your favorite football team?
Even after 10 years between responses, it's still the Michigan Wolverines. :-)
