This item is for discussion of on-line games. Some of these have some connection to sports, but many do not. We can discuss all of our favorites here.

One of the best implemented on-line games is Web Darts, accessible from http://homepages.enterprise.net/rglennie/darts/game.cgi. There are one person and two person games there; the WWW page is set up for 7 different darts games: 501, 301, Around the Board, Shanghai, Cricket, Golf and Double Trouble. I like 301 quite a lot; you have to hit a double to start the game, then score exactly 301 points, finishing on a double. If you go over 301, you lose the rest of your handful of darts, which can cost you 3 shots. The best possible score in 301 is 7 (50+1+50*5) (there are other methods of getting there as well). I've scored as low as 12, and maybe lower.
Then there's the Jezzball site. I knew there must be a jezzball site; jezzball is an addictive but simple game on one of Microsoft's game CDs. There just had to be a site where you could play this game on-line. Sure enough, there is, it's: http://www.bolaloca.com/way/cool/bl/index.html It's almost exactly the same game as on the Microsoft CD. You go to the site, pick "play now", enter a user name and password for yourself, and then try to trap those bouncing little balls. The game keeps track of the daily and all-time high scores, which get into the amazing range; just today someone has gotten it up to level 52, and all-time, the highest level is 273. (I don't get how anyone could play at that level; I've never been above level 12, but there it is on the high score board.) If you go there and play, you can see my latest scores as "Iconoclast" or "Michigan_State_Spartans_Rule!". (Sometimes I use one, sometimes the other.) Great game for 10 minute breaks.
Oh, and you can play BocaLoca in Spanish, if you like.
Wow, I just got an 8 in Web Darts "301". That's unquestionably my best ever, and the best I ever hoped to do.
