You know a very funny story, and you know you tell it effectively. You
are in a group with one or two people who have heard the story, but 
there are several who haven't and would probably enjoy it.  Do you
tell it?

Yes.  If it's really funny, the ones who've heard it before won't mind
hearing it again.

I preface it with "Should I tell the one about the..."
and if those who have heard it groan, I don't,
but if they respond with, "Yeah, X will love that one", I do.
