Grex Scruples Item 67: Scruples: Question and Answers
Entered by canis on Sat Aug 27 18:20:13 UTC 1994:

This is for the very uncreative people like myself.....

Here's the deal, you answer the previous question (if there is one) and then
you ask a scruples question. If there isn't a previous question then you get
to ask one and not have to answer. Please keep questions to one line, but
answers can be as long as you like. These are ment to be quick versions of
other questions in this conference. Oh well have fun.

Which would you choose a good tape or a good book?

279 responses total.

(a good book. I need to read more than I need to hear music.)

(if you REALLY like omelets, and there's only two eggs left in the
fridge, do you use both?)

(if it's a "fearsome" spider, such as the garden variety, I try to move it
outside. Otherwise, I let it stay.)

(do you go out of your way to kill insects?)

#4 of 279 by canis on Sun Aug 28 13:26:28 1994:

no but we feed them to our pet turtle......

there is one can of pop left and nothing else except water, you have 12 guests
what do you do?

#5 of 279 by carson on Sun Aug 28 19:08:39 1994:

(I serve water.)

(You call someone and leave a message on their answering machine. Do you
wait for them to call back before you call again?)

#6 of 279 by roz on Mon Aug 29 01:38:49 1994:

I'd wait unless there was a time-limited thing I needed to say.

If another car comes alongside you on the expressway and stays
there, what do you do?

#7 of 279 by carson on Mon Aug 29 06:27:45 1994:

(if I'm at all suspicious, I speed up until I'm alongside another
car.)

(if for some reason you were to come into a large amount of cash,
would you keep it all for yourself?)

#8 of 279 by canis on Mon Aug 29 21:59:59 1994:

well probably not all of it.... in fact much would be donated at the local
cd sellers in exchange for some jamming tunes....but I'd give some away..

If a stranger is hichhiking<sp> do you stop?

#9 of 279 by aruba on Mon Aug 29 23:26:21 1994:

No.
Someone of opposite sex calls your name while you are in the bathroom.
Do you answer?

#10 of 279 by brenda on Mon Aug 29 23:48:38 1994:

sure, as long as the door's closed ;)

you fix a snack, and your son keeps bugging you for some. You don't
really feel like sharing. so you share anyways, fix another snack for
him, or tell him to go away?

#11 of 279 by carson on Tue Aug 30 03:09:32 1994:

(I'd fix another snack WITH him.)

(you've lost your job, but you're financially set for the year. Do you
start your job hunt right away?)

#13 of 279 by canis on Tue Aug 30 05:04:34 1994:

you come to a fork in the road, one side leads right, the other left,
which side do you take? Don't think about it, just answer.

#14 of 279 by carson on Tue Aug 30 07:33:12 1994:

(right.)

(you come home to find that the cookie jar you filled yesterday is
empty today. Do you look for suspects?)

#15 of 279 by roz on Tue Aug 30 19:03:55 1994:

No, I'd know so who needs suspects?

The dishwasher is full of clean dishes while dirty ones pile up in the
sink. Do you empty it now, or wait until the last possible minute?

#16 of 279 by scg on Tue Aug 30 19:18:10 1994:

I used to wait until the last possible minute, but now I empty it as soon
as possible so that I can put dirty dishes directly into the dishwasher
rather than having to pile them on top and then reload them into the
dishwasher.

#17 of 279 by aruba on Tue Aug 30 23:10:31 1994:

Ack! Steve forgot to ask a question!

#18 of 279 by canis on Tue Aug 30 23:38:50 1994:

You have a choice between donating time to your family, who you live with
and donating it to your friends who you see about once a week, where does
your time go?

#19 of 279 by carson on Thu Sep 1 04:47:29 1994:

(my time goes to my friends. my family will TAKE the time it needs.)

(you're Grexing along and notice that someone has flamed one of your
earlier responses. do you flame back?)

#20 of 279 by canis on Fri Sep 2 03:16:00 1994:

No, why bother...

Your reading a paper when a s.o. comes along and starts cuddling, you are,
however, very involved in this article, do you put the paper down?

#21 of 279 by carson on Mon Sep 5 08:56:58 1994:

of course you put the paper down. you can always go back to the
paper later.

be short-handed. do you?

off your call waiting or do you leave your call waiting on?

#24 of 279 by carson on Mon Sep 5 22:45:34 1994:

you always turn off call waiting when modeming.

you have a friend who needs to do something VERY MUCH, but can't
seem to bring themselves to do it. do you help "Force" them
to do what they want to?

#25 of 279 by canis on Thu Sep 8 00:13:19 1994:

Well if they really want to do it, it would be okay to push them towards it..

Your friend spends all his/her time on grex, do you tell them to get off and
go outside?

#27 of 279 by scg on Thu Sep 8 01:19:39 1994:

I'd probably vote for the Democrat, since Democrats generally seem to be
the lesser of the evils. I might regret it later, but I think I'd be more
likely to regret it if I didn't vote and then some real Republican
sleezeball won.

#28 of 279 by carson on Thu Sep 8 06:40:41 1994:

you're reading the Q&A item and realize that the last person to see it
was so out of it that s/he/it forgot to ask a question. Are you able
to fill in?

#29 of 279 by popcorn on Thu Sep 8 23:36:19 1994:

#30 of 279 by carson on Thu Sep 8 23:56:36 1994:

Without sugar, without caffeine, without carbonation.

You want to recommend a delicious dish to a friend. Unfortunately,
the dish is very fattening, and your friend is trying to watch his/her
weight. Do you still recommend it?

#31 of 279 by omni1 on Fri Sep 9 04:35:09 1994:

re 30: Then what's the point?

#33 of 279 by carson on Fri Sep 9 21:29:25 1994:

no. you take the question and make an item out of it.

you have tickets to an event, and the person you'd like to go to it with
is out of town until mere moments before. do you find someone else to
go to it with?

#34 of 279 by roz on Sat Sep 10 11:28:58 1994:

I'd tell the person that I'd like to go with them if they can
make it in time and leave it up to them.

Someone who offended you yesterday has left his car windows down,
and it's starting to rain. Do you tell him, her or it?

#35 of 279 by scg on Sat Sep 10 18:15:33 1994:

I find it very hard to stay mad that long, so yes.

#36 of 279 by canis on Sat Sep 10 19:45:26 1994:

To your surprize it seems that a friend of yours hasn't got the hang of the
scruples QUESTION and answer item, do you clue them in?

#37 of 279 by scg on Sat Sep 10 20:49:20 1994:

Yes, especially when it's at least the third time he's neglected to ask a
new question.

You realize that you've just neglected to ask a new question when
answering a qestion in the Q&A item. What do you do?

#38 of 279 by canis on Sun Sep 11 02:42:22 1994:

You pay homage and/or money to the fw's to let it slide......

If you recived large bills to forget that someone forgot to supply a
question in a q/a item, do you accept???

#39 of 279 by scg on Sun Sep 11 03:51:58 1994:

No, especially when it comes from somebody with a login starting with s
and ending with g.

You are told to pay money to a conference FairWitness to make the fw
forget about some forgetfulness in their conference. Do you?
