Recently, there has been some disscussion, about items 120, and 121. Some have
found that these items are offensive, and others have noted they feel 
uncomfortable, and still others have stated, that these are items and should
be dealt with... I agree that they do make me uncomfortable, and I find them
offencesive, but I do feel that they should be dealt with. My fear is that
people will not take these items serriously, and much drift will occur. That
is why I froze the items. It seems to me that some feel, that I have violated
the grex, ban on censorship. I didn't censor anything, both items still
exist, and are readable by the public. If demand, for these items in 
particular, to be talked about then I will thaw them, and disscussion will 
continue as it normally would. I however, propose this:

I must first start by saying, that I don't think the authors of these
items intended serrious conversations to be carried on in them, and all I
saw was a lot of potential drift. I propose that someone, namly me, post
items for serrious disscussion, on these topics, as I feel they should be
talked about. I would also, hope that serrious disscussion would occur in
these items. I asure you that I was only thinking what would be best for
the conference.

 law is.  Is it Really wrong to Molest small children?  I feel that children
 need to be educated in case someone dangerous comes along.  What do you think?

  I'm moving because the police are pinpointing a major drug-bust on me, and
 I'll have to deal crack elsewhere.   So I was wondering if any friends out
 there could help me find a suitable place to live.  Won't you be my neighbor?

Perhaps the author did have a serious intent, but do to the nature of the
items, attempted to bring this out in an inappropriately humorous way.  For
example: it is highly possible that the author of the first one (120) was
molested themselves and, being unable to be overly serious about it, needed
to say something on this and get feedback.  Perhaps they are fearful that they
may do to someone else what was done to them.  Even with negative feedback,
this person would be able to realize that it IS wrong, and so could get help
accordingly.  However, they should should find comfort that no matter what
they do now, I'm sending them to hell. =).

On further reflection I noted that it is possible that this person has already
commited the crime and feels remorse for their actions.  As for 121, it is
possible that the person is an avid drug-user, and also needs feedback on this
so as to feel more accepted.
   Though I do not personally condone their methods, I do recognize the
possibility for these to be completely serious.  Obviously both parties in
question need help, whatever it may be.
  Regardless, the grex should take this in stride as a perfect opportunity
to discuss some serious issues that are of growing concern in today's society.
Show these people that we take what is said here seriously.

I dunno I may misunderstand the idea behind this forum but I see it as a
meeting place for people and some people might find item 120 offercive but
the articule SEX WITH FRIENDS might make some people uncomfortable too I
myself have be molested as a child and did not find it repulsive some people
might just be trying to liven up this party and have fun maybe you should
e-mail them and ask them to dissuss this article it might have been better
and even funny elsewhere and maybe they could have used it there or maybe it's
just some idiot being rude oh well me no no * *

CHRIST: I believe that the arguments put forth by you. They are clearly the
product of a disturbed mind. Keeping the names they have chosen in mind, They
had no intention puting forth a serious discusion topic in are beloved BBS.
The items were justly frozen, but on the same token they weren't censored
which still shows the board members patience for pathetic insanes and self
proclamed, inane saviors. Rest assured that, as ruler  of HELL, there is 
a very SPECIAL place for these people. (Although BARNEY would get to annoying
in HELL after a while, we will have to do something about that)
SO SAY THE THE SERPENT OF THE GARDEN, RULER OF HELL.

your crack. 

Grow up , You need to seek professional help. This could be a sign of a more
serious problem.

As a participant in this conference I'd appreciate it if the fairwitnesses
would not freeze items because of "potential drift" or because the subject
matter made them feel "uncomfortable". 

I would prefer the FWs facilitated discussion but adding whatever comments
they feel are appropriate and trusting the users to either take the
discussion to a higher plane or ignore it and have it die from neglect. 
Freezing truncates discussions and sends messages that our entries are
moderated, that users can't be trusted to constructively discuss difficult
topics, and that you too can pull staff's strings by entering problematic
items.  Yucko.

Well, it seems to me that poeple want the items unfrozen, okay. I can deal with
that... I'm willing to admit that I made a mistake in freezing them. So, here
ya go.

A little over my understanding 

I used to run several email discussion lists and one eventually
was closed down because of the material that was getting posted.
Before the end I tried several times to make it clear to the
participants that "free speech" doesn't mean you can say whatever
you like.  Some statements can destroy the possibility for free
speech.  It is as if we decide to have a pot-luck dinner and someone
wants to bring a bag of live rats.  The "freedom" to bring whatever
you like to the potluck is not an absolute freedom.  You might bring
food that many don't like, but you have to bring food.  And certainly
if someone sets a bag of excrement on the table, no one debates about
whether removing the bag is censorship.
