Grex Scruples Item 122: Promotions...
Entered by christ on Sun Aug 20 08:01:55 UTC 1995:

You've been working somewhere for quite some time. One of your bosses
seems wholey intent on making your life miserable. Then one day, as luck
would have it, a higher up recognizes you by promotion and you are now above
your former boss. My question is this: in what manner would you approach your
previous superior?

well I think this person would be a waste of time to bother with people like
this don't deserve to be managment I would not talk to him execpt for
neccacary job duties and ask to be on a seperate shift or somewhere I wouldn't
have to deal with him\her such a person would probably cause you more problems
and try to get you demoted or fired

Depends on the exact nature of "making your life hell".

If the supervisor's causing problems with the employees (not just
employee) by being overly harsh on them, then it'd be ridiculous not to sit
them down and have a talk. I've seen people elected to management for
senority reasons that had no interest nor skill whatsoever *managing* other
people's work, and there's no crime in it, but then again there's no sense
in it either.

If it was a personal vendetta, I'd leave it die. Being promoted over
someone is considered a victory in office politick.
