Grex Scifi Item 87: The Cape TV series
Entered by tpryan on Mon Nov 4 04:10:15 UTC 1996:

Anybody been watching 'The Cape' a syndicated show seen in
the Detroit area on the CBS station, channel 62 (cable 6)??

While this continueing drama has been reality based, this
past week dealt with a reasonable possibity, while next week's
show looks like it might be more science fictionany than others.

Anybody else been watching? What do you think? Do you
might that some things we know as reality (such as the neutral
boyancy tank being in Houston being depicted as if it where at
The Cape) for the sake of reasonable continueity/drama of the
show?

I've been enjoying some of the real shots of Kennedy
Space Center, launches and space shots. The series opener
used the March, 1996 launch of Atlantis, the one I saw in the
middle of the night live from Titusville, Florida.
They have also been using some great special effects.

I saw the TV guide ad and had time and watched the first episode on
channel 62, but haven't felt strongly enough to watch it since then.
What is the regular time slot? Based on the first episode, I think it
might be good. I agree the setting is somehing I am interested in. And
I might be able to care about some of the characters as well.

I don't think this is supposed to be scince fiction, but it is a genre
which I think is long over do, real tales of space exploration. (By "real"
I do not mean actual voyages, but things that are now possible.) Might be
a bit more interesting if they concentrated more on space.
