Grex Scifi Item 100: book exchange
Entered by jep on Thu Mar 5 20:22:22 UTC 1998:

I'm looking for a copy of "Lord of Light" by Roger Zelazny. I found
recently I no longer have one. I found it's out of print. I found Dawn
Treader doesn't have a copy (though I signed up for them to look for
one, so maybe there's hope).

I'd prefer to buy it from someone, or exchange it for other books...
don't like to borrow books since either 1) I don't have them later, or
2) my benefactor doesn't have it later. And both are possible.

Anyone have a copy they no longer need/want?

This item can be used as a book swap/exchange item if anyone is
interested in such a thing.

I think I recall seeing a copy up at Daves used books, just up Liberty from
the Dawn Treader. That was about a month ago though.

Thanks!

I'll have to try looking at some of the other used bookstores around.
Can you give me directions on how to get to Dave's? (I know, "up
Liberty" is enough directions for an Arborite, but I'm quite capable of
not finding things in A^2. It took me several tries to find Dawn
Treader.)

upstairs, on the SW corner of Liberty and State Street (by the State Theater)
 the entrance is on Liberty.

And if you already know how to get to Borders:

(a) Go to Borders.
(b) From the sidewalk, face toward the entrance doors.
(c) Turn left.
(d) Walk about 50 feet.
(e) Turn right.

Congratulations, you're at David's! >8)

Thanks! I can find that. I will.

I asked Dave's to search for a copy for me. They charged $1.50. That
was about 5 weeks ago, I think. I never heard anything from them,
despite their promise to contact me within a couple of weeks.

Dawn Treader, however, found me a copy, which I picked up today. They
charged $3.50 for the book, with no finding fee.

A few weeks ago I asked my local library if they could get it through
the inter-library loan program, and they did so; I picked it up last
week, and read it. Now, though, I have my own copy.

Thanks for all the help!

$3.50 is better than $1200 which is the highest quoted price for it at
http://www.interloc.com. ;) Or if you're hesitant to pay $1200 it can
also be had for a mere $275. For the rest of us they also list it at
$6. ;)

Wow, if I'd have known about that site, I'd have happily paid $6 for a
copy.
