Hello Everyone! I am a volunteer for the Oakland County Emergency Management Division, and a member of the Oakland County Amateur Radio Public Service Corps. I am certified for Intermediate Skywarn Training, Hazardous-Materials Training, and am waiting my IS-2 (Formally HS-2) RACES Training Book. I am interested to hear what the other people in the area do to benifit Emergency Management and other public service agencies. I mainly do Net Control on our various nets, assigned liaison for the ARPSC, wake up in the middle of the night to speed up to the Emergency Management Building when a tornado comes our way, and various things like that. I do some volunteer work at a Community Crisis Center. We tend to take care of personal emergencies, such as food, housing, domestic violence, suicide, mental illness, etc. Fortunately, I'm not on the "on-call" team. I get to sleep when I want to. ;-)
Ah, okay. I have heard of those type of centers. Well, luckilly, I am not on call for the emergency management. I may be put on call if something goes through right. Hmmmm. We'll see. Nick
