Grex Rpg Item 1: Welcome to RPG II
Entered by kain on Tue Jun 25 19:38:45 UTC 1996:

Welcome One and All Rpg is Now REBORN!!!!!! <like the cute little dragon on
the login?> Instead of using this item for mindless chatter like the welcome
item usually is lets talk about how we can make this thing more affective.
Yes the old one is still here. join it by joining database. That's what it's
basically going to be. THere's so much info in there that I'm going to leave
it. Now other than the ones already here what should come back? Snafu: Once
you think that you can get the starwars thing going notify me and I'll link
it.

Well, I really don't need to mention it, since this is the only item here now,
but the AD&D items you said you were going to link need to be linked. That
is, unless you were doing that while I was typing this.

#2 of 87 by cthulhu on Tue Jun 25 20:48:48 1996:

hooray! now I can enter that item I've been dying to enter!

#3 of 87 by bjorn on Tue Jun 25 20:55:08 1996:

#4 of 87 by gandalf on Tue Jun 25 23:28:05 1996:

I'll respond, then!
...
There!

One question, what exactly is that thing in the opening supposed to be?
Or is it like one of those stupid 3d stereogram-thingies, that only I
can't see???

#5 of 87 by bjorn on Tue Jun 25 23:40:32 1996:

I have a *feeling* that it is supposed to be a dragon, peering over the edge
of something.

#6 of 87 by kain on Wed Jun 26 00:11:36 1996:

Well, They will be linked
I just was waiting
since I didn't have time

#7 of 87 by bjorn on Wed Jun 26 00:13:25 1996:

#9 of 87 by gandalf on Wed Jun 26 15:55:12 1996:

I'm into AD&D, I'm just not in either of the games, so I don't pay attension
to them.

#10 of 87 by scott on Wed Jun 26 16:18:53 1996:

Er, the old RPG isn't joinable as "database", but it is joinable as "oldrpg"
or "rpg1".

#11 of 87 by matthew on Thu Jun 27 03:48:49 1996:

RPG II ?
Looks like some spring cleaning has been happening.

#12 of 87 by bjorn on Thu Jun 27 18:15:07 1996:

Yep - 'cept in the case of Great Ring, it'll be Autumn cleaning.

#13 of 87 by kain on Thu Jun 27 20:02:15 1996:

yes it has! the old one is still joinable as oldrpg or rpg1
what kind of new items would you like to see?

#14 of 87 by bjorn on Sun Jun 30 14:24:35 1996:

I'm considering purchasing some of the Might & Magic series of computer games
- I've watched the demos from my Hammer of the Gods CD infinate times but
haven't really made any solid decision about whether or not I should get any
of the normal Might & Magic games. A definate purchase, however, if I can
manage to get my hands on it, is Heroes of Might & Magic. (Yes, I know that's
not really how the game is spelled).

BTW Anyone else own Hammer of the Gods? I've been dying for PBEM.

#15 of 87 by janc on Sun Jul 7 15:15:34 1996:

FYI: There are a mess of board games (Avalon Hill, Simulation Games, Magic)
being sold in the "auction" conference. If you are into this, this is a
chance to pick some up cheap, and help support Grex at the same time.

#16 of 87 by orinoco on Tue Aug 20 00:39:42 1996:

Why am I a happy hinter without my permission? I don't know or care beans
for CRPG's...

#17 of 87 by snafu on Tue Aug 20 22:12:15 1996:

Mayhaps because Jon is like everybody else who runs a conf, and anyone
who responds is on a list. Stop responding, I dunno. Yell at Jon through
his mail, though he's at Interlochen this week.

#18 of 87 by irish on Sat Aug 24 18:54:54 1996:

#21 of 87 by kain on Mon Aug 26 21:44:59 1996:

designs with the names. Irish: welcome to rpg. If your interested the old
version of this is joinable as oldrpg. It's got about two hundred items so
it's restarted as you see. you want to revive any old discussions, go for it
and enter the item, this goes for anyone else too.

#22 of 87 by starwolf on Tue Aug 27 15:27:50 1996:

Lemme see the new stuff first. Buenos Dias, Irish.

#23 of 87 by gandalf on Tue Aug 27 20:59:57 1996:

#26 of 87 by kain on Fri Sep 6 00:31:28 1996:

join the fun!!!!!! and welcome. we currently have two running campaigns. 1
is planescape and the other is darksun soon to be, spelljammer I believe?

#27 of 87 by ziggy on Sat Sep 7 17:03:33 1996:

We're getting ready to run a Ravenloft campaign down here, as well as a
Vampire...I'm playing a Malkavian for the first time. I've never run
Ravenloft either, but I'm playing a 10th level mage from Waterdeep.
Any tips, I've only ever played in the realms!

#28 of 87 by kain on Sun Sep 8 03:05:12 1996:

Ugh, I've never played ravenloft. I do paladins and only paladins. I just
can't do evil or neutral characters. sorry.

#29 of 87 by gandalf on Wed Sep 11 20:18:45 1996:

On the other hand, I love playing evil characgters. It adds a certain
flavor to tha game.

#30 of 87 by bjorn on Wed Sep 11 21:46:59 1996:

'Tis far easier as a GM to make sure good characters are acting goodly, while
it is more difficult to make sure one is played evily propewrly. Take chaotic
evil, where most people spend so much time killing they miss the point of
chaos.

#31 of 87 by kain on Thu Sep 12 01:27:13 1996:

hmm.. try a chaotic good character.. UGH!

#32 of 87 by bjorn on Thu Sep 12 15:21:40 1996:

Hardest ALs to play properly;
LE, N, CE, CG
And what I consider the easiest;
LG, LN, NE, CN

#33 of 87 by kain on Sat Sep 14 00:58:37 1996:

CE??
hard?

#34 of 87 by bjorn on Sun Sep 15 18:19:49 1996:

Being evil while following the aspects of chaos - I have yet to see someone
play a Chaotic Evil character and pay attention to the aspect of Chaos - evil
is easy - being evil while staying in line with chaos is nigh impossible.

#35 of 87 by snafu on Sun Sep 15 19:00:49 1996:

what are the peculiarities of chaos? nevr really figured it outt....

#36 of 87 by bjorn on Mon Sep 16 15:06:45 1996:

Chaos, put simply, is randomness -where law in D&D and AD&D represnts order
nad sense.

#37 of 87 by snafu on Mon Sep 16 18:02:54 1996:

oh... ok....

#38 of 87 by ziggy on Fri Sep 27 02:04:31 1996:

I almost always play chaotic good mages...I guess I got stuck in a pattern.
I was gonn a try and play a thief this time...but we needed another
magic-user.

#39 of 87 by starwolf on Fri Sep 27 13:20:55 1996:

Ever tried a Psionicis? In the right circumstances the'yre more dangerous
than a mage...less likely to be detected, too...
