Greetings, Fair Lords, Ladies, sirs and madams: I bring you greetings from the Shire of Caer CAledon in the Kingdom of Drachenwald, from across the sea. I thought I might look around Rialto and see what the lovely people here are up to... to my dismayed surprise, it does seem possible that you are all dead! But in case you aren't... a few words. I'm the Herald of our incipient Shire, (I'm sure many of you know of our sister Shire in Toronto, Canton of Skeldergate) and I'm just passing through offering friend;y greeting! Also, an invitation, to those of you crazy enough to go on a heck of a roadtrip, to our Beltaine Feast and Fayre, in May 1, in St Andrews, Scotland! So, if there is any life left here... greetings, salutations and anything else you can think of. Iscah Fraser Ciella dar'Thay al'Qamariya, soon to be Herald of Shire of Caer Caledon in the Kingdom of Drachenwald. (and any of those who recognise me as wavestar... hello and greetings, its been far too long.)

Hi! Neat to hear from you; I'm currently a Cinnabarbarian, but came from the East, parent-Kingdom to Drachenwald, and am looking to move to Toronto- at least for the summer. You may or may not realize that this is the "rialto" (SCA) conference of Grex, a volenteer-run computer conferencing system in Ann Arbor, Michigan. There is also the "Rialto"- started on use.net YEARS ago as the world-wide computer discussion center for the SCA. Which were you looking for? I'm sorry my family cannot join your for your event, I know we'd love the trip. Another year, perhaps. <g>
Greetings and Salutations, Wavestar; I am Fiacha of Whyte Whey [that would be Manhatten, in Ostgardr]. Indeed, not all the SCAdians are dead on Grex, though few of us post, it seems.
Mneme! You live! I've missed you. And the Fantasy conf is dead and dormant and sorrowful. Come back?
Being a grexian of old, I was looking for an found this one, Kami... and its a pleasure to meet you both. Kami: if you're in the Toronto area for any Skeldergate events past this summer, I would ask you to take greetings to some friends of mine there.. but this is all speculation and hypothesis. It is good to see life, however... little of it though there may be :)
I may or may not make it to any events, will mostly be doing kid stuff, horse
stuff, and hanging out with friends- some of whom are SCA, so it is
possible... Where did you wind up?
And do you know anyone in the Toronto area who might have a summer- sublet
for us? :{
I'm confused.. I have wound up here. I'm afraid I don't know anyone in Toronto this summer.. wish I coul help... but my friends won't be there until September . Good luck!
Kami -- I've been around, and in and out. But I've tried to help the Fantasy Conf revivify, with no good effect. :( Can try again, I guess. A pleasure as well, Wavestar. Now, if I can only get rid of this cough, I might be able to have fun today.
Bibity, bibity boo- begon cough and ah-choo! There, josh- did it help? <g>
Maybe a little; still coughing, but differently.
Uh oh...<g> Feel better, dear.
Am, actually. Don't like colds that aren't 100% cleared up after 12 days. Re-reading The Forgotten Beasts of Eld, but that's a different conference. Speaking of which, I posted a message in fantasy; how 'bout you? I'll match you message for message; want forum to -live-.
Yeah, that's a while. Haven't thought of anything for Juvenile Fantasy books yet.
You'll come up with something, I trust you. Or start up a new item or two; 28 items is pretty anemic.
Just found this conf by just crusing the web. Seems things really haven't changed in Cynnabar at all. Kinda seems like this used to be the Cynnabar discussion list in the past. This has also provided me with a look into Cynnabars past. Not that things have changed much :-) Hope to me some of you folks sometimes! Luveday
Sorry to have vanished for a while... trust you are all well in Cynnabar, and everywhere else you are. What is this fantasy conference you discuss? Tell me more... Forgotten Beasts of Eld, exellent book. One of the few I brought over the waters with me, in this last yew.. (well, okay, itsn' tnot that few... but I can hardly live without books, now can I?) -Iscah
The fantasy confernce we were discussing was the one on Grex, called, aptly, "fantasy". Like many of the conferences on grex, it has hit on hard times recently, but has recently had a few "live" threads (mostly on Mckillip and young adult books); we would be very glad indeed of new blood.
Luveday, I'd really like to lure more Cynnabarbarians back to Grex. This conference could be useful, and save bandwidth in email if minor debates go on here- where we're not all quoting pages of agreement, etc.
Maybe I'll post to the group abut this and see what happens. I think this would be a great idea!
