Is there a SOCA chapter in Northern Michigan? I live in Gaylord about an hour south of the bridge.

I hear tell of something called Northwoods, but I'm now sure where
"up north" it is. not

Laughing Bear,
Do you get the Pale? There's a short list of Michigan groups in the center
section of the publication If you're not a member of a group, and that's
why you're looking, I could understand why you wouldn't have a copy of
the Pale. <grin> The Pale is the Middle Kingdom's newsletter.
Pattie
Hey, peacefrg, come walking of a Saturday (I know it's a bit of a drive. You did say you're in Michigan didn't you?), and I'll try to remember to bring my Pale.
Any around Ann Arbor? I'd like to go to some events.
Mike,
The Pale has a listing each month of events in the Middle Kingdom. The
next closest one is the 25th anniversary of the Barony of NorthWoods.
The event is a camping one, so you can come for a weekend or only a day.
It's being held the weekend of June 3rd at a campground in Ray, Michigan.
If you want more details, come to the Monday Night meeting. There will
be flyers for the event, along with other flyers for different events
available for you to pick up.
Monday Night meetings are held in the EECS building on the U-M North
Campus. Room 1311, I believe. (On the ground floor in the center, large
tree-lined hall.) This Monday, the workshop is on making Mead.

Can I just show up and stuff? how much does it cost?
Mike,
You're welcome to show up at any Monday Night meeting! We'd love to see
you. All people are welcome at the workshops.
If you mean is there a fee for the meetings, no. They're open to the
public. The fees are for events. If you were asking for more info on the
25th anniversary Event, I can get that.
Pattie
What are some of the other workshops that you guys do? I'm not big on the mead stuff, since I don't drink alcohol.
Mike,
Workshops are listed in The Citadel. The workshops are every Monday Night,
so please stop in!
Pattie
how do I get a copy of the Citadel to read?
Mike,
Come to a Monday Night meeting! Citadels are free to people new to Cynnabar.
Meetings are held weekly (except for holidays, like this coming Monday) at
the EECS building on the U-M North Campus. The workshops start at 7PM and
the business meetings start at 8:30 each week. The meetings are held in
room 1311 in the EECS Building...located off of Beal. Park in the North
Campus Commons, and then it's a short walk to the EECS Building.
Or, email me your address and I'll send you an older copy of The Citadel.
It has a map to the Monday Night meetings and the Archery Practice that's
held on Saturdays.
Pattie
I like how Pattie always starts off with Mike, It seems so friendly and all... The workshops are quite varied. They are almost always aimed at a beginning level and cover things from heraldry and garb to where we should camp at Pennsic. Please feel free (everyone) to stop by one of our meetings to check us out and see if you like it. There is no cost to stop by and no pressure to join. (Except there is that one guy selling Amway in the corner...) Oscad
Don't believe him! There is a charge to attend...no! Just kidding. There
isn't a guy in the corner doing amway...that's what you're to disregard! ;)
