You are sincere, harworking, and of course more importantly harmless.  You
will not even scold a person even if the situation demands.  In all sense,
you are a cow-like person.  All of a sudden, a situation arises wherein you
are abused by the very near and dear to you for no fault of yours.  How do
you reat?

Assume the very near and dear has his/her facts wrong and is acting in good
faith but bad reality.  

By seeing myself as a victim.  It's much easier that way.

Were I to be a 'cow', I would go with chelsea's response...but I hope I would
actually respond with more confidence...

But the question was assuming you were compliant, unable
to be assertive, and slaughter-house material.  Poor sods
who fit this profile are often unable to rally beyond
the role of victim.
