For those of us who believe, to some extent, in death, where do we go when we die? Where would you like to go? Where to you think that you'll realistically end up going? Is there another plain of existence or do we just fade into the background to make room for someone/something else?

If there's anyone her who doesn't believe in death, they need some serious cluing-in. >8)
There are some who believe that they don't truly "die" and have no connect of death, they just go somewhere else.
er concept :)
I find it almost arrogant to believe that your own personal soul is something eternal that will go on being your own soul for eternity, I think that we are all more of a system together. I also think that the things you do to define your life are the things that will stick. I believe that if you are looking for immortality the only way to do it is to raise your children, your own genetics, to be the people you want populating the world, and to live the life that you want to have.
Reincarnation (sp?)..my soul will float from one body to the next.. for all eternity...(imho)
It is appointed unto man ONCE to die, but after this the judgement....
HEB 9:27
...These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest;
to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
II Peter 2:17
...And many of themthat sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to
everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that
be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn
many to righteousness as the stars for eveer and ever.
DAN 12:3
...He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me,hath
everlasting life, and shall NOT came into condemnation; but is passed from
death unto life.
John 5;24
...For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that
the world through him might be saved.
JOHN 3:17

I understand wanting to express your beliefs, but let's try not to comdemn others for theirs, ok? <I'm sorry, but that's what it sounds like to me. If I'm wrong, I will, of course, apologize.>.
True... I agree strongly. I know people who read this conference won't always come together in their thoughts and ideas, but we ave the right to express them nevertheless.
Put something behind your back. Now, without, turning your head, without moving your eyes, try to look at it. Death is like what you see--not anything, not darkness, just...nothing
That's depressing.
I don't know...I think it would be plesant...like sleep, las dreams. er, sans dreams....
I've always loved the idea of sleep but it just recently occured to me that one of the main reasons I enjoy sleeping is due to the way I feel when I wake up... just a thought.
I always feel relatively bad when I wake up, but I still enjoy sleep...I wonder why...
Isn't sleep just another addiction? Couldn't the body perhaps learn to do without it? I remember reading about a guy who just stopped sleeping and I could pribly find a source.
Actually, that sounds interesting. If you can remember the source, drop me an e-mail would you, Carson?
Yes, I would be interested to learn of this as well carson... I did hear a while ago of somebody who doesn't *dream*...not just no memories of dreams, no recorded REM sleep over a long while of observation.
1984 Guinness World Book of Records. A man in Spain went without sleep for 80 years [I think I read in a later edition that he finally did sleep, but I can't verify that at the moment]. He was quoted as saying something like "I've taken sleeping pills until I shake, but it does no good."
Intriguing...
According to me death is just like gate. Like an examination from which
everybody has to pass. Think like this, when we are born we contain knowlidge
from our previous birth. This knowlidge is gained from our experiences. And
the knowlidge we gain in this life would be transfered to our next birth. this
process will continue till we finally become perfect and one with god.
For me the God is not a person but a stage of perfectness. These words
do not exactly describe my concept of God but they are nearest in english
language of my image. God is like an ocean where we peple like millions of
rivers fall into an huge ocean.
( I dont have a fluency in english but you can always mail me at

acording to me , the death is not just a death....~! why...? because ...i think the death is a metamorphosis of live....~!!!
death is that stage when you walk out of one 'classroom' and into another... i think a school is an apt metaphor for the whole saga of life 'n death
Every object in this universe consists of atoms and then comes the sub atomic particles.we cannot proceed further .So we have to realise that there is a state of indivisibility in each of the entity in the universe whivh is the universal consttitution of all matter. This can be regarded as the ultimate .It does,[Dnot die or takes rebith.this is the presence of the universal in all forms. We have to realise that .flesh only perishes and not the ultimate
As long as humans have been able to concieve of death, they have tried to convince themselves that it doesn't really exist. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt!! To me, any part of a human "continuing on" after death, makes about as much sense as the idea of an omnipotent being that created the universe or the idea that the day of the year on which you are born will have a large impact on the type of person you turn out to be (astrology). Materialism is the only logical way to go.
It's a cycle. Come back to Earth(?) of course! Some other form may be?? Come back ? From where ? As if u went and bounced off somethin' . Sounds pretty interesting!!
Experience DEATH and u'll know !!
At Death, we return to that state in which we existed before we were conceived. Where was that? Where are you at this very moment? Check out my website...www.churchofgodanonymous.org
