The sun's shining and it's a beautiful day in midmic.....

Curtains and plumbing? We can get by with a fridge, a computer, a modem
and a roof.

#5 of 61 by brenner on Thu Mar 24 00:11:41 1994:

You mean there's a lake in here........(looking around) with
^[[5m^[[31mCalifornia^[[0m Golden Trout? The kind of fish that
air force pilots hike miles and miles for?

#6 of 61 by gerund on Thu Mar 24 01:16:42 1994:

I don't mean to drift, but brenner, are you using an Amiga?

#10 of 61 by ducatist on Thu Mar 24 06:03:58 1994:

<sharpening steel>

#11 of 61 by gerund on Thu Mar 24 06:49:02 1994:

#12 of 61 by brenner on Thu Mar 24 07:40:50 1994:

which one is the Amiga, I forget. does it use wordperfect jr?
does it have a hard drive?
does it dream of electronic pig latin filters
 prehensile ansii escapes?

#13 of 61 by gerund on Thu Mar 24 09:18:46 1994:

Its the commodore thingie, but not the abused c64 or vic20 or pet or c128
the 68000 type thingie the multitasker
that one thingie the kind of that no it does not dream of pig electronic
latin filters but it does the job bucko i must be in need of bed sleep a
little rest i think that woulds be nice yes it would it would oh yes it
would i do sound like a james joyce novel i think i must do you too?

#14 of 61 by carson on Thu Mar 24 17:25:00 1994:

not to drift, but I'm using Windows and *I* see italics, without blinks. Then
again, if we wanted to get technical, what I'm looking at are little light
projectors that create the illusion of letters, and then if I wanted to get
surreal...

#15 of 61 by vishnu on Thu Mar 24 17:31:13 1994:

Hmmm... what windows term program? Mine doesn't show anything
but bold.

#16 of 61 by remmers on Thu Mar 24 19:11:35 1994:

I see no blinks, but I see letters in different colors. (I'm using
"color" xterm under the X Window System.

#17 of 61 by kami on Thu Mar 24 19:14:26 1994:

ow! that sounds rough on the eyes. or is it the vodka?

#18 of 61 by vidar on Thu Mar 24 20:31:01 1994:

The vodka. Definatley the vodka.

#19 of 61 by dam on Thu Mar 24 22:22:33 1994:

well, Telix under DOS in VT102 mode shows colors and blinking.
that reminds me that I was going to re-do all the response seperators
and such for myself in color... glad to see standard color
codes work for the vt102...

#20 of 61 by vishnu on Thu Mar 24 23:10:37 1994:

Hey, Remmers, is the X Window System compatible with the
normal windows system? If so, could you upload xterm
for me? I have a really bad term program.

#21 of 61 by carl on Fri Mar 25 01:27:15 1994:

I've got Windows and I don't see italics or blinking, but I do see
a neat shade of gray for the background color.

#22 of 61 by vishnu on Fri Mar 25 01:43:22 1994:

Ooh, what term program?
<vishnu is desperate for a decent program>

#23 of 61 by carl on Fri Mar 25 02:49:16 1994:

Smartcom for Windows. I like it, but your mileage may vary.

#24 of 61 by brenner on Fri Mar 25 07:00:50 1994:

I just love the smell of termcap in the morning!

#25 of 61 by ducatist on Fri Mar 25 08:13:37 1994:

This response has been erased.

#26 of 61 by remmers on Fri Mar 25 11:06:40 1994:

Re #20: Nope, not compatible. Xterm wouldn't run under MS-Windows.

#27 of 61 by vishnu on Fri Mar 25 13:57:04 1994:

Oh... i have smartcom for dos, but it, excuse my blatant expression,
sucks. Do you think you could upload smartcom for windows, carl?

#28 of 61 by carson on Fri Mar 25 17:15:29 1994:

Why is this in the reality conf.?

#29 of 61 by vidar on Fri Mar 25 17:34:09 1994:

...

#30 of 61 by vishnu on Fri Mar 25 17:55:53 1994:

I have no idea.

      there are many manifestations of
           the Great oneness obtained through
careful study of the internet and its
                 effect on amiga-loyalists!

re 27: Sorry, it's not shareware. I wouldn't want the feds to come
tromping in and removing all that Grex has... ;-)

#36 of 61 by bubbles on Sat Mar 26 18:25:58 1994:

#31, I see the pseud as red "p", green "s", yellow "e", light blue (or
maybe cyan) "u", no "d", all on black.

#37 of 61 by vidar on Sat Mar 26 20:29:03 1994:

I'm getting sick.

#38 of 61 by carl on Sun Mar 27 02:59:02 1994:

And I see a yellow "p", a yellow "s", a yellow "e", a yellow "u" and
a yellow "d".

I wonder if that's because of the many manifestations of the Great
oneness or if it's because of this old monitor...

#39 of 61 by vidar on Sun Mar 27 03:31:44 1994:

I only see a bold "d", or occasionally the "d" will flash me.
