Thanks to everyone about the shortwave radio. I got myself a Sony ICf-something shortwave that has 10 sw bands, going from 2.2 mhz to like 30mhz or something. I really like it. Just one more thing, now I ned to find some frequencies. :) Are there any publications or brochures or something that will list a table of frequencies for diferent languages and stations in North America? Thanks again Sarmad.

You might try a Web search on the subject. When I got my scanner radio I found some pages with really great listings of frequencies.
one of the best magazines to find SW freqs is "monitoring times" published by grove enterprises...you can find it at any Barnes & Noble or Borders. its a monthly publication...it even has a satilite<sp> schedule section.
The book "Passport to Worldband Radio" is handy as well.
The classic is the World Radio Television Handbook, commonly known by its acronym, the WRTH. It is better than the Passport volume with very systematic listings of all the language services of the broadcasters. The Passport volume is very good for beginners, with many articles and features which illuminate various aspects of the hobby and various broadcasters. Its "Blue Pages" are utterly unsurpassed as a tool for station identification. They list, by order of frequency, almost every scheduled transmission with bar graphs identifying times and languages. Both volumes have equipment reviews.
