What is a Press Kit ? and should we have one ?

A press kit is a collection of materials that companies and/or organizations send to the press in an effort to get free publicity. The kit may include a press release on the thing the organization wants to get publicity on and a "backgrounder" which gives some background information on the organization. I think a press release might be a good idea. Perhaps you or I could write a press release touting our first anniversary and send it to all the local press as well as all the national computer magazines.
This sounds sounds like a boffo idea! Thanks for coming up with it guys!
So, who is going to write it? I'll do it if no one else wants to.
Thanks, Dan! Yes, please do.
