Grex Publicity Item 8: Getting Started with Picospan--an idea.
Entered by mta on Sun Jul 5 03:38:29 UTC 1992:

I'd like to craete a 3 or 4 sheet handout named something like _Getting to
Know PICOSPAN_ that would walk people through newuser and give them the first
steps in learning to use GREX--how to check help conf how to browse a
conference, then how to read all or part of the conference.

I'm perefectly capable of coming up with this thing...the problem is
distribution. I suspect we're losing a certain number of people when
they can't get started before they get frustrated with trying to learn
to use UNIX...but how do we catch them after they're interested and
before we lose them?

Would it be more appropriate to have a "Getting Started on UNIX"
document available? Or do we have one already and I just haven't
heard of it?

I think there are some Nutshell books from O'Reilly Associates.
Borders carries a some of them.

"Getting Started with UNIX" guides are widely available. "Getting
Started with Picospan" not so.
