Anyone got any ideas about what information other than the telephone number we ought to make a part of our flyers?

maybe a list of the cfs and a short piece on the "friendly" debate that goes on here. you know the usual bull
Supported baud rates and modem settings. 300/1200/2400, 7E1. The word "member-run" might be nice too.
AHA! There it is! The meat I was looking for--thanks, John!

I agree, Valerie. The more different kinds of fliers we have out there, the more different kinds of people we'll appeal to. The more the merrier, I say. (well, with the exception of encouraging illegal or anti-social behavior. Those folks'll find us anyway.)
Hmm... the flyer I whipped off today has GREX in big bold inch-high letters at the top of the page. My hope is that it'll pique people's interest. Now that I think about it, I do wish I'd emphasized the fact that access is free a bit more. There's 100 copies of them for the JCC.

Thanks, John!
I would be willing to pass out some fliers, on a casual basis. send mail.
We need a catchy slogan like, "The Most Fun You Can Have With Your Modem!"
(something like that...)
I'm already designing a tri-fold flyer with that as the slogan...I hope to distribute them through computer stores of various kinds. I heard it here first, but it was too good not to co-opt!

That was my hope--that something glossy that they can put in the sack and lokk "generaous might appeal. (Also, have you been meeting with the manager or just trying to deal with clerks?)

Well, I don't claim that dealing with the manager is a guarantee--but the clerks don't have the authority to agree to hand out flyers. It's probably worth a try...

We actually have two so far -- imma and jangel.

Radio Shack in Briarwood seems to like Grex too. I gave them 10 or so.

I'll take credit for submitting us to the MI Computer User.
and for not setting up the "adult" section?
Actually, I've always thought that Grex was a pretty adult board, as such things go.
I guess it's a good thing I didn't tell him about our sex .cf.
It's hard to tell with all the children here.

I sat down in the Michigan Union for my usual cholesterolfest yesterday and lo & behold there was a Grex flyer. One thing to mention in future flyers: U-M students can access Grex even if they do not have a modem. They can go into their normal e-mail program at Angell Hall or whatever site and type "dialout-AA" instead of "um" at the "Which Host?" prompt. The Which Host? prompt is actually a Merit prompt...dialout-aa requests a local dialout modem. Students will have to enter their U-M MTS User ID and password, and their MTS account (which consists of $15/mo. in free MTS play money) is charged 25 cents. -Deacon Blues-
Thanks for the pointer, Andrew. (If you'd like to create such a flier for the UM market, I'd be thrilled to reproduce and distribute it. And to have some new fliers to distribute!)
I suppose this is some sort of booby-trap that I'm walking into, but here goes: So, I've been hanging around GREX for a couple weeks. It's all well and good, I find my way around the conferences, read Usenet newsgroups, blink at Unix stuff. But I don't ever believe I have seen any documentation about--> WHAT IS A GREX, ANYWAY? O.K. So I asked. Does my user status self destruct?
GREX is Latin for a group, a gang, or a social gathering--also a flock.
Aggregate and gregarious are two english words derived from the latin "grex".
Grex is the offspring of Colossus and Goliath. :)

Valerie, Pardon? I don't want to take someone else's credit.
(I actually got them to do it)
Hmmm, the Border's fliers could have been from my little guerrilla paper party some weeks ago, I guess...
