I'm still bothered that grex keeps it's aim so restricted, as to what
it calls local.
When I first joined., I would've loved to get an intro flyer.. but, living in
Southfield, it sounds like this wouldn't happen.
We'd *love* to send everyone a flyer! But we *can't* anymore. At 60 per day sent out, that would make for $19.20/day for just the postage. Adding the cost of envelopes and paper, we'd spend more than $600 a month on this. Now, we've always sent out flyers to anyone who has sent us an sase. We probably haven't advertised that enough lately. Also, the text of the flyer is available through lynx.

Boy has this item been quiet!

Would this position also be the Editor of the Cyberspace Driftian?
I would not infer a presumption of coincidence of the two functionalities; however, why would rule out a confluence a priori.

We would like the publicity chair to focus on Ann Arbor and environs. It would be hard to do that from out of town. By contrast, the Drift editor could easily be from anywhere.
<<remmers, I liked #8 a lot - well said!>>
<<Well, thanks, but my typo in the 2nd line made it somewhat incomprehensible.>>
It's been months since I left. If no-one else cares to do it, I may be convinced to take it up again. (LIfe is ever so much calmer now.) Any takers? Anyone want to partner?

With you as a fan club, Valerie, my head is in serious danger of outgrowing its hat. ;) You've talked me into it, though, unless someone else has a yen to do it???
I'm not interested in being a publicity coordinator, but if you want some help with editing or layout, let me know. My preferred editing and layout apps are MSWord and QuarkXP for Mac, respectively, though I can adapt to other Mac apps or even to <shudder> Win apps. I have intermediate design skills, not professional, but I'd be willing to take a stab at some revised flyers if they're needed (I don't remember what the old ones look like). Some targeted flyers might be cool too, for example flyers to leave at music stores could hype the music cf, or flyers to leave at bookstores could hype the books/writing/poetry cfs.
Misti I am so glad you're back, and even more delighted that you are willing to get involved in Grex Publicity again. Thanks!
<grin> Thanks, Steve. Even cocooning couldn't keep me away forever. Ajax, it would be great if you could design two or three of those specialty fliers on topics that interest you. One of my major concerns with the GREX fliers is that with me designing all of them in a vacuum, they were taking on a sameness that I thought was a disservice to our diverse system. I have a "logo" of sorts that I could give you to incorporate in your efforts so that we maintain a recognizable coinsistancy. Speaking of logos, though, see my item below.
I'll volunteer to be the new publicity coordinator. But, whatever you do, please don't send e-mail to somebody@cyberspace.org I don't really like pine. Please use puckinmyface@juno.com

Ok. Thanks. I'll set it up. An aside to the person who posted about doing new fliers: If (and this is a big if) I take over as publicity chair, I would be glad to have your assistance. If you could just give me some of your designs, in quark forma, on a disk, I could get them published.
