Grex Poetry Item 204: (no titel)
Entered by freedom on Tue Aug 8 17:53:45 UTC 2000:

To watch a person suffer
from within their eyes
is perhaps one of the greatest
human tradgedies to witness.
You can see their eyes screaming;
for attention, for anything,
but their eyes become dry and weary,
and nothing comes.
I know that you are sad,
perhaps an understatement.
Yet what can my broken heart offer?
I see the world thru a smal hole,
carved away from my lifeless expiriences.
What good will my hand do
even if I were to reach out.
I am slipping away as fast as you;
so I simply hug myself tighter.
I have cried for you too much
and there you sit still waiting.
Please do not look into me like this;
I didn't make your hurt so cold.
ANd images of you
are eating away at this fragile sanity
in which I teeter back and forth upon.
I cannot stand to watch you suffer;
so forgive me when I look away.
I only see what I want to.
This is how the world is.....
