RETAIL VALUE ------------ Craig Ludwiczak 6/7/2000 Hate is for folks who don't have a soul When did the world lose its spirit? Where did it go? Money is for people who don't have a heart Why do we weigh love in dollars? When did we start? Looking for compassion in the check-out line The lack of smiling faces makes my sanity unwind Shiny happy people stay away from places like this Can't get good luck wishes from the hard end of a fist Humanity it has no price We sell our soul we roll the dice We set the stage for our own fall The greedy man within us all Don't ask me why don't ask me how Get through it fast get through it now I beg the world on bended knee We're more than retail value ...can't you see...? Can't you see? Looking for a way to get out of the crowd The pounding of my heart has never been so loud The blood boils in my veins and my eyes bulge in my head You're better off in prison if you think you're better off dead Now low supply and high demand Is money in the devil's hand We need a way to shut him down The nasty boy in our sleepy town Don't fake the truth don't tell a lie Get through the storm you're flying high Don't give living a service fee We're more than retail value ...can't you see...? Can't you see?

My feeling after a day at K-Mart...usually...
<sighs> retail sucks. day after day of seeing the same stupid human tricks. people who think you're there to make them feel good, who think you're there to kiss up to them so they;ll buy something. little children, unsupervised. The worst of humanity brought out on display, just for you. <hugs craig> look at it this way, though: when *you* are in the checkout line and your total comes to $10.81, you'll always hand the cashier exactly that or $11.01. (;
<nods> My friends who do that drove me crazy, until I spent a little while behind the snack counter at the museum.
Lost about the money idea..but um, nice poem! It says in a good way how American society runs currently.. On money... A lot less people are putting time into a higher power, and more into the power o f the dollar..which of course, well all ends meet, will fail you! I like this poem, but you poor thing, all this from a day at work!! Do I here a job change in the near future?! Find something that feels more rewarding!! :)
