Well, this is a dead conference. Shall we kill it officially?

No. Conferences can lay dormant for a while, and that's perfectly normal. There is a lot of information here, and I have learned a lot, so I vote to keep it going. Don't get so down on yourself Marc, you're doing a great job!
I agree with omni. The problem isn't with the conference - it is with the Grex clientele! Get your phtography buddies to come here and conference about it. An additional problem is that Grex does not "advertise" its conferences at all well to most users. You have to know the command-line "help conferences" to find what there as - and I suspect most users have forgotten that, or never "learned" it when they first logged in. The Menu shell doesn't help except to tell you to go to bbs and do a "help conferences". The Lynx shell is a little betters, as you can find a list - a few links down the chain. Maybe this should be brought up in Coop (again)?
ditto
Great - we will keep it alive. I was starting to think it was sort of a "vanity press" thing. I hope to get a lot of dialog between amateurs and serious amateurs, with pro's welcome if they show up. I also would be in favor of going to some location for a shoot.
How about West Virginia? It's the most photogenic place I can think of. ;)
It is entirely possible - I have a van!
Ack, don't kill it! At worst it becomes a reference book.
This is the best way to generate new interest in a conference -- the FW announcing his/her plans to kill it.
Well, it worked . . . . . .
Well hey, I'm glad that this conference is still here!! I've been around grex on and off since its beginning, but because of computer related problems over the years, I haven' always been able to get on. But now that I'm back, I'll be checiking in from time to time! As for photoshoot locations, I live in NC; if any of you are down my way, let me know!
Each year, my brother and I take a huge road trip for the sole purpose (excuse) of photography. Last year, we put on about 9000 miles between here, Utah, Nevada, Calif. Ariz. NM, and Tx. We have not decided our trip this year, but it looks like Utah and Ariz are calling us. I bought topographical detail atlases of both states great photographic aid! NC is a good destination, too.
Marc, one nice thing about the NC area is that from where I live [Raleigh/ durham area], I'm only a couple hours from the mountains or the ocean [may be more, depending on WHERE in the mountains or th coast ya want to go...]
what ever happened to mcpoz?
resp:13 The Photography conference killed him officially. Long Live Cybernetic Immortality!
