Anyone interested in a photo Grexpedition? We could choose a shooting location and go there and shoot it as a group, helping each other with composition, etc. Maybe late March and beyond? I would have a van capable of carrying 6 or 7 with gear. If there is an interest let me know and we will build a list. (Also, if you are interested, suggest a shooting location).

Marc, I know its been a long while since you've posted this item but I may be itnerested in a shooting trip--I'm going to be in MI in early June and in early July...
Let me know when you firm up your plans. Also, what do you like to shoot? City stuff? Barns? Water? Anyone else?
Michigan is beautiful in early summer. The greens are brilliant and there are lots of flowers, etc. If you're anywhere near Ann Arbor there is a lot of great architectural elements, and the river valley and surrounding lakes areas have a wealth of natural settings.
I'll most likely [tentatively] will be in AA from Friday evening [this week] til at least the following Monday [a week later]. Since I've moved away from MI and still get homesick, I'd love to find something/place[s] that are more typical Michigan... Either outdoorsey stuff or landmarks, whatever.
I have been told that Bay City is an interesting place to shoot, but I have never been there. Also there are lots of country settings right around A2 which are sure winners. I'll look through some maps.
Keep us posted on what you think!
If I can drag myself out early on Sunday, I plan to shoot a few photos downtown A^2. Maybe I'll even get my daugher to try out her new camera with me.
MArc, did you end up going out and shooting downtown AA with your daughter? I was hoping to hook up with ya but didn't have reliable access to Grex at that time...
No, but I did do some scouting and there are some really neat photo opportunities in the early morning or late evening in downtown Ann ARbor. I was thinking of shooting the Greyhound bus depot and the buildings just south of the old Kline's building (Loving Spoonful and its neighbor). I think the beer depot on Packard at night would be good too!
Maybe we can work out an expedition sometime this next week... But. then, with this being a holiday week, I don't know what other peoples plans are.
I think my daughter and I will try out her new camera today. If she gets excited about it, I will hit her up for a Sunday morning trip to Ann Arbor. I should know tonight.
Keep us posted, Marc! I think I'm going to take my new camera down to the park...
We are a "possible" Sunday morning - not at dawn though.
I wouldn't be up at dawn anyway--this is my vacation time!! :-0
anyone interested in photography in India... the sights and sounds of this place will blow your mind.
I have a friend who just moved to Madras and has invited me to visit there. I haven't set up a trip yet, but if I do, I will discuss the photo opportunities in this item.
Marc, how about re instsituting this come better weather?
Ok, I don't have a van now, but I do have a station wagon with 5 passenger capability. Total miles driven is absolutely no problem. Who wants to go and where? (I will be out of town for all of next week, so don't think not (that should be "no") reply is lack of interest. I'll be back after January 25th. I will check in and see what kind of interest we have.
Err, I meant warmer weather, I guess.
Some of you folks should come up to the Keweenaw in the fall. Absolutely beautiful.
Assuming it fits in with work & school I'm in...
any up coming photo expeditions planned?
Anyone in the AA/Ypsi [and southeastern MI, perhaps] interested in doing any photo grexpeditions? I really do want/need to get back out shooting again.
How about we all take a photograph (wherever we are) at 4pm (local time) on Sunday, and then compare results? :-)
I'd love to see us start a Grex site on Flickr that we could all contribute to. other and I already use it, as does remmers.
I have a flickr account although my recent efforts aren't worth uploading, in part because I accidentally loaded up my camera with stale film. None of the cans have expiry dates on them, but I /think/ I know which are the least old now. Perhaps I should just throw them all away and start from scratch after we move house.
Several years ago, I checked out other people's photos on flikr when they've posted their link. But I haven't really done more than that. But I think setting up something for grex users could be cool! I just need to take the time to learn how to upload photos from my camera, something I haven't done yet. Though I do have lots of images on my computer that I've gotten from cd's. Over the last few years of taking film pictures, I'd have them put the images on a cd as I've never been good at doing anything with the negatives. And my dad has given me a cd with LOTS of photos of us growing up along with lots of OLD ones--of relatives and such that go back several generations.
