Grex Photography Item 14: Nude photography
Entered by bruin on Sat Apr 29 23:50:54 UTC 1995:

I was wondering if anybody in the photography conference has any advice on
nude photography and its forms, as well as anybody who is looking for a male
model who would like to pose in certain animalistic shots.

Animalistic shots?

#2 of 15 by bruin on Tue May 2 11:31:50 1995:

What I mean is posing like a bear, as my nude body has a bear-like physique,
especially when I'm crawling, thus the login of "bruin". No, I don't mean
anything regarding animal abuse or such. Sorry for any misunderstanding on
my part.

The background is more important than the model, it needs to fade into
the background! The model needs a clear idea of what needs to be done. Finally
everyting that can be done to prepare the model and background need to be
done before you start shooting. My best nude shots all needed much work in
cropping and spotting and buring in to cover up the defects that are
everywhere.

For a bear shot how about a figure against a sunset in a natural envirnment,
having the subject go black in a backlight situation removes many problems
in the print. Out in Chelsa there is a park with a sutable hill and skyline.

Rather than animalistic you should use good photo jargon like 'Rugged
beefcake'.

Not a bad idea dadroc. BTW, there is a gay-oriented magazine called _Bear_
which shows photos of nude males, many of which are on the heave and/or
hairy side. IMHO, I enjoyed the fact that nude models do not necessarily
have to conform to the "ideal human body."

Bruin, if you are interested I have a large library of computer graphics.
I could send you a assorted collection if you want to see the
different things you can do with nude photography.
Were you interested in taking tasteful nude shots or hardcore?

You'd better send it quick while it's still legal...

Where you been, Steve, Newt said he didn't like the Exon amendment, so
it may well be dead in the water.

gagh! You mean I might have to like something Gengrinch does? Scary!

Yep, quite a few people are pleasantly shocked by this.
A Republican (Newt, no less) striking down a Democrat's attempt at
censorship... strange things happen.

Even better, the House plan being drafted now, the entire plan
for the government's involvement in Internet censorship, is to
provide an 800 number for parents to call and find out how to prevent
their kids from getting porn off the Net.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear the Libertarians had gotten
control of the House...

People are discussing matters peripheral to nude photography.

On nude photography, the one I like the most is glamour. I have some
experience with it and, believe me, it is not easy to take good one's.

As everything, photography is an art.
